WhatsApp could double the length of status videos

WhatsApp appears to have rolled out numerous updates over the past few weeks to those enrolled in the beta program. While many of these updates fix various bugs, some of them introduce new features that users can test and provide feedback.

With WhatsApp beta version 2.24.7.6, the developer is increasing the length of videos that users can add to their status. Currently, WhatsApp users can add videos up to 30 seconds long to their status, but the latest beta update extends the duration to 1 minute.

Discovered by the people of WABetaInfoThe new feature that lets users share videos up to a minute long via status updates only appears to be available to some WhatsApp beta testers on Android.

While it's certainly not a core feature of WhatsApp, it's good to know that the developers are listening to feedback and trying to respond to many requests that make sense.

As with all beta features, it is difficult to say whether or not this will be available in the stable version of WhatsApp. Still, since this doesn't seem that difficult to implement, it's likely that all WhatsApp users on Android will eventually be able to share longer videos via status updates.
