Samsung’s unannounced new Galaxy A35 5G and A55 5G mid-rangers are already up for sale in Europe،
Leaked in detail several times over the past few months and even reviewed in Russia (of all countries) before being technically and officially revealed to the world, the highly anticipated (by some) Galaxy A55 Mid-range 5G is now available to be won in Germany.
Believe it or not, the 6.6-inch phone
always hasn't been properly announced, and the same goes for the identically sized but obviously slightly low-end Galaxy A35 5G, which is also listed as
available on the website of a major German retailer. While it's clear that these product listings are premature, we won't rule out them remaining live at this point and Otto fulfilling your orders if you live in Europe's second most populous country.
Yes, things have really evolved
that out of control when it comes to the two new additions to Samsung's successful Galaxy A
series of smartphones.
The Galaxy A55 is a little more expensive than expected
Of course, these aren't directly from
Samsung, so they may vary from retailer to retailer, not to mention they're probably not representative of the entire European continent, much less America North.
In the
United States, we fully expect that
The Galaxy A55 5G will retain the $450 base price of its predecessor, as the two are very similar in design and specifications. The A55 naturally packs a newer and faster Exynos 1480 processor compared to its Exynos 1380-powered predecessor, but the 5,000mAh battery with 25W support, 50+12+ triple rear
camera system 5 MP, a single 32 MP selfie shooter and IP67. water and dust resistance will remain completely unchanged.
The 120Hz Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, meanwhile, will apparently increase from 6.4 to 6.6 inches, which obviously makes the A55 overall taller, wider and heavier than the 'A54, but other than that and the aforementioned processing power. upgrade, they're basically the same two devices, which might explain why Samsung has essentially given up trying to create buzz around its next mid-range release in a conventional way.
For what it's worth, the Galaxy A55 5G is of course ready to go Android 14 with One UI 6.1 leading the way at launch, and the 128 and 256 GB storage variants appear to come with 8 GB of RAM, which is actually quite a significant improvement over the 6 GB A54.
The Galaxy A35 5G is exactly as affordable as you hoped
Perfectly in line with all the rumors, the redesigned sequel to the A34 costs €379 in Germany in a single 128GB storage configuration that only carries 6GB of RAM on deck.
The Galaxy A35 5G looks incredibly similar to the more expensive A55, which means it ditches its predecessor's clearly outdated notch in favor of a more modern punch-hole. The second of the three cameras on the back of the handset is below its Galaxy A55 counterpart, at 8 resolution instead of 12MP, and the same goes for the 13MP front snapper.
The 50 MP primary and 5 MP tertiary rear cameras, however, seem pretty impressive for a sub-$400 device, and the same goes for the Exynos 1380 processor, 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display, battery of 5,000 mAh and IP67 certification which are all “borrowed” from the more expensive A55 5G.
Unfortunately, we expect this truly budget phone to follow the Galaxy A34's lead and snub the US market, leaving you with a pretty sizable gap in Samsung's regional portfolio between the recently released Galaxy A25 5G and the imminent one. Galaxy A55 5G.
