Here's a man who will never lay a finger on an iPhone or anything that runs iOS.

Meet Chris Pyatt. No, not the former world middleweight champion boxer from England.

The hero of this story is a man named Chris Pyatt, operator of Pum's Kitchen Thai restaurant in Queensland, Australia. The anti-hero, as you might have guessed, is called iOS.

The story revolves around Pyatt's small business in Australia that was mistakenly labeled as “permanently closed” by Apple Maps, as well as a mislocation (via AppleInsider).

Out of the blue, a regular customer recently asked Chris Pyatt why the restaurant closed its doors. Imagine his face hearing this question, while his restaurant was still operational, with no intention of closing. The regular customer said that according to Apple Maps, the restaurant was “permanently closed.”

That's when Chris realized why the restaurant had seen a “significant decline” in turnover of around AU$12,000 ($7,877) over the past few months. “It’s our livelihood,” said the restaurant owner, who has worked with his wife Pum on the project for nearly a decade.

“We have no idea when this change occurred,” Pyatt said, but upon closer inspection we saw a “sudden and drastic change in customer behavior” starting late November and throughout the month of December.

The couple – Pyatt and his wife – use Android smartphones and Windows PCs, so they could not and did not see the Apple Maps problem. Pyatt contacted Apple customer service, but was reportedly told he could not receive support or help because he was not an Apple customer.

Not closing wasn't the restaurant's only problem, as they also found the location to be incorrect. “We lost a customer because he called us to check the location, then said he was using Apple Maps and didn't show up,” Pyatt explained.
