Jack Black May Be Joining The Minecraft Movie Cast،

It is fair to say that most Minecraft fans know that Jason Momoa is set to star in the film adaptation of the hit game. However, a new report indicates that Jack Black could also join the cast of the upcoming adaptation.

Not confirmed yet, though

According to a recent report from Deadline, the high-octane actor known for voicing Po in Kung Fu Panda and being 50% of Tenacious D could star in the Minecraft movie. Sources indicate that not only will Black be in the film, but he could play the role of the game's most popular character, Steve.

At the time of writing, the report has not been confirmed by anyone officially involved in the project. However, given the success of the recent Super Mario Bros film, in which Jack Black voiced Bowser, it wouldn't be too surprising to see him play a role in other video game adaptations.

In fact, the 54-year-old actor and musician plays the role of Claptrap in the Borderlands movie, so it's not too strange to assume that he might also be in Minecraft.

The report goes on to say that the film's plot is now “under wraps”, and that the finished product is expected to be released in April 2025.

Since its launch in 2011 (or before for those counting alpha versions), Minecraft became one of the best-selling video games of all time. Not long ago it surpassed 300 million units sold, so it will be interesting to see how well the film adaptation does at the box office.
