Gmail on iOS now lets you unsubscribe fast and easy with a single tap on a new button

It's been over a month since we last talked about a much-needed feature for the Gmail app: an unsubscribe button that's convenient and saves you from having to scroll and dig through menus.

In November, it became known that the Gmail team was testing a modification that would allow Android users to quickly and easily unsubscribe from spam emails. Now it's not Android phones that get it.

Instead, iOS users get it first (via Android Authority) and the solution is deployed quietly.

There is a prominent “Unsubscribe” button in Gmail for iOS and users see it just below the email subject line and above the email content. The report contains some screenshots to get a better idea of ​​the updated UI, here they are:

Instead of tapping the 3-dot menu icon at the top of the message window and then searching for “Unsubscribe” (or scrolling down in the email and looking for the “Unsubscribe” button » from the sender), this new solution is much more practical. and saving time. No scrolling, no searching, just one press of the button and you're ready to go. This addition to the iOS Gmail app is similar to the web version's unsubscribe button, which is placed below the subject line and next to the sender details.

As of now, the new unsubscribe button is not yet available on Android devices. This is quite ironic given that Android is Google's own platform, but this isn't the first time Google has brought features to iOS before Android, like the ability to remove the last 15 minutes of the browsing history in the Google app, and the ability to crop videos in Google Photos.
