Tipster advises Apple Watch users to sell their current bands because of future incompatibility

Future Apple Watch models could be drastically different in design and become incompatible with the current Apple Watch band(s) you're using, a tipster warns.

9to5Mac spotted a post from an X/Twitter user and collector of rare Apple products Kosutami. The information suggests that “the next generation of connectors [Apple] Watch” will be “completely redesigned” and Kosutami urges users to “literally, if you have old bands now, just sell them.” It’s 100% accurate.”

Additionally, Bloomberg reported on Apple's plans to introduce a new strap design and celebrity Mark Gurman explained how Apple was exploring a change in the way straps are attached to the Apple Watch. The current system would “take up a considerable amount of space” inside the Apple Watch, which Apple engineers say could be better used by a larger battery or other components.
