{"id":9759,"date":"2023-11-17T17:39:30","date_gmt":"2023-11-17T14:39:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/9759\/nfl-to-investigate-bengals-for\/"},"modified":"2023-11-17T17:39:31","modified_gmt":"2023-11-17T14:39:31","slug":"nfl-to-investigate-bengals-for","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/?p=9759","title":{"rendered":"NFL to investigate Bengals for injury report compliance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NFL to investigate Bengals for injury report compliance\u060c<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The NFL is investigating why the Cincinnati Bengals did not list quarterback Joe Burrow on their injury report this week due to a wrist ailment that ultimately ruled him out of Thursday night&#8217;s loss against the Baltimore Ravens, a league official told ESPN Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The Bengals had posted a video on X Wednesday night of Burrow getting off the team bus wearing what appeared to be a soft cast on his right hand before later deleting the post.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline editorial float-r\" data-behavior=\"article_related\">\n<h2 class=\"editorial-title\">Editor&#8217;s Choice<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><\/li>\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/1700231970_504_NFL-to-investigate-Bengals-for-injury-report-compliance.jpg&#038;w=130&#038;h=130&#038;scale=crop&#038;location=center.jpeg\" width=\"65\" height=\"65\"\/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1 Related<\/p>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Burrow appeared bothered by the injury against the Ravens before leaving the game in the second quarter and being ruled out shortly after halftime.<\/p>\n<p>Coach Zac Taylor said after the game, a 34-20 Bengals loss, that preliminary evaluations showed Burrow suffered a sprained right wrist.  Burrow was seen in the locker room wearing a multi-layered scarf.<\/p>\n<p>Taylor said Burrow fell on his wrist earlier in the game before appearing to be in serious pain after throwing a 4-yard touchdown pass to running back Joe Mixon on what was Burrow&#8217;s final play of the game.<\/p>\n<p>The coach said he was not aware that Burrow had a wrist issue before the game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was the first time I\u2019d seen anything about it,\u201d Taylor said, adding that he \u201cabsolutely\u201d felt good about Burrow preparing for the competition.<\/p>\n<p>The NFL regularly reviews compliance issues with its injury reporting policy.  The league takes injury report violations seriously, with penalties including team fines or potentially a lost draft pick.
