There was speculation that a hardware issue was the cause, with some blaming the A17 Pro chip, and others claiming that the phone had a smaller heat dissipation area and that its new titanium frame had reduced the phone’s thermal efficiency .

Although most complaints have since subsided and iPhone 15 Pro has become one of the best phones of 2023, some users say the phone still gets hot sometimes. Although we’ll probably never know exactly what’s wrong, whether it’s just a bunch of commonly used social media and ride-sharing apps making the device hot or a software glitch , Apple surely wouldn’t want a repeat of that, especially since the iPhone 16 is rumored to be a disappointing upgrade.

<picture style="padding-top: 66.621621621622%"></picture>

According to user @KosutamiSanApple could make some changes to the design of the iPhone16 series to avoid overheating problems. 2024 iPhones could switch to a graphene thermal system, which should improve thermal conductivity, as it is a more promising material than the copper currently used for heat dissipation.

Furthermore, the iPhone16 Pro and Pro Max could feature a battery with a metal shell. MacRumors notes that for the Apple Watch Series, the company has already switched from black aluminum cases to metal, so this change seems plausible for the iPhone’s battery as well.

Kosutami is apparently in possession of iPhone16 prototypes, which is how they claim to have discovered these possible changes.
