Nothing Chats is a new app developed by Nothing in partnership with Sunbird, another messaging app launched earlier this year with the aim of bringing iMessage to Android.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cI don\u2019t think anyone in our industry would do it,\u201d Pei said boldly in the announcement <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/video\/\"   title=\"video\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">video<\/a> below.  Granted, Apple CEO Tim Cook might at some point watch said video and not be happy with what he saw. Although not yet available, once launched the app will be available through the Play Store only to Phone (2) users in the US, Canada, UK and EU.  It&#8217;s unclear if it will be available for the phone (1) or other Android phones in the future.<\/div>\n<div>Nothing Chats is currently in beta and is adding more features as things progress.  As of this announcement, the app supports many of the native features you get with iMessage, such as live typing indicators, full-resolution media sharing, and group chats. Nothing&#8217;s website states that all you need to do after downloading the app is sign in with your existing Apple ID (or create a new one), then once you&#8217;re ready, you can <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/start\/\"   title=\"start\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">start<\/a> to enjoy your blue bubbles.  The company claims that since the app is built on Sunbird&#8217;s platform, all messages are end-to-end encrypted.  In fact, according to Nothing&#8217;s claims, Chats messages are transmitted from one user to another without ever storing them on any server and the data only lives locally on the device.<\/p>\n<p>This is a very interesting approach to solving the messaging problem as it currently exists in the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/united\/\"   title=\"United\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">United<\/a> States.  Apps like Sunbird and Beeper have been around for a while and have provided workarounds for getting iMessage on Android.  However, what Carl is doing, taking technology from an existing third-party app and integrating it into a proprietary messaging app, is something I haven&#8217;t seen other companies try when it comes to to break iMessage lock.<\/p>\n<div>Hopefully this can help keep the conversation alive and bring about change.
