This is what Judith Luebke of Oklahoma was diagnosed with; a problem she didn’t know she suffered from before.<\/p>\nAfter an urgent medical visit, he was diagnosed with extremely high blood sugar levels, a deadly combination for diabetics.<\/p>\n
One Friday morning, she remembers, she received a notification on her Apple Watch. The notification was an alert, indicating that she was suffering from atrial fibrillation (atrial fibrillation \u2013 an abnormal heart rhythm, also called arrhythmia). She thought it was just stress from the recent loss of a loved one.<\/p>\n
\u201cI talked to my boss that morning and said, ‘You know, I have a meeting this morning. Maybe I’ll see the doctor after this, maybe I will, maybe I won’t \u2013 maybe I’ll wait until the weekend,” she explained. Son However, her boss convinced her not to ignore the alert but rather to go to the doctor.<\/p>\n
After arriving at the hospital, Luebke learned that she was diabetic and had extremely high sugar levels.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I had waited until the weekend, I probably wouldn\u2019t have made it,\u201d she said. \u201cThat’s what I would have done if I hadn’t gotten the notification on my watch. I just thought with everything that was going on I just didn’t feel good and I would go to the doctor when I got to the doctor.<\/p>\n
Her daughter, Shannon Bowers, is another person who is more than happy that her mother went to the hospital.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know what I would do without her. If it hadn’t been for the watch, and if it hadn’t been for the people in his life \u2013 his boss and his other colleagues \u2013 telling him \u201cno, you have to come in,\u201d and his listening, she would.
