That&#8217;s according to a recent update from the Amazon-owned platform.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"is-style-normal is-style-heading-rubik\" id=\"h-a-difficult-decision-statement-says\">A \u201cdifficult decision\u201d, according to a press release<\/h2>\n<p>If you go to the platform <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/help.twitch.tv\/s\/article\/nintendo-switch?language=en_US\">help page<\/a> &#8211; especially the section relating to the Switch &#8211; you will be greeted by a notice at the top.  The message confirms that those currently using the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/app\/\"   title=\"app\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">app<\/a> on the Nintendo hybrid console will no longer have access to it at the end of January.  In fact, on November 6, &#8220;new users will no longer be able to download the Twitch app from the Nintendo eShop.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement from communications manager Gabriella Railasent sent to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/10\/31\/23940753\/twitch-nintendo-switch-app-end-support\">The edge<\/a>, it was a &#8220;difficult decision to remove the Twitch app from the Nintendo Switch.&#8221;  The report states that even though the app for the console was released in 2021, it was considered quite problematic, with issues such as not being able to see a streamer&#8217;s chat.  It can&#8217;t be said at this point if this is part of the reason support on Switch is ending.<\/p>\n<p>For now, you can still use the Twitch app on the Nintendo console.<\/p>\n<p>The Switch definitely feels like it&#8217;s reaching the end of its lifecycle in general.
