The former Carolina Panthers writer for the Charlotte Observer won the APSE award for recent news and the South Carolina Press Association Award.  for business writing in 2018.<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>FRANKFURT, Germany \u2014 Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill is enjoying his time with the Kansas City Chiefs, but even he&#8217;s looking forward to seeing some of his former teammates when the two teams face off this weekend he doesn&#8217;t feel any feelings.  extra emotion before this week&#8217;s match.<\/p>\n<p>Hill spent the first six years of his career with the Chiefs before being traded to the Dolphins last offseason and facing his former team for the first time on Sunday.  The game will be played in Frankfurt, Germany, instead of the Chiefs&#8217; Arrowhead Stadium, but Hill said the location of the game is not as important as the outcome.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter where we play,\u201d he smiles.  &#8220;I mean, obviously it would have been great to play in KC, but it doesn&#8217;t matter where we play, you feel? But they&#8217;re going to make this work anywhere.&#8221;<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline editorial float-r\" data-behavior=\"article_related\">\n<h2 class=\"editorial-title\">Editor&#8217;s Choice<\/h2>\n<p>2 Related<\/p>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Hill&#8217;s reunion comes days after he was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for October.  He currently leads the league in receiving yards with 1,014 and is on pace to become the first receiver in NFL history to surpass 2,000 receiving yards in a season.<\/p>\n<p>Since his trade last March, no player has had more receiving yards or catches than Hill, and he set a career high with 1,710 yards in his first season with the Dolphins.  He didn&#8217;t necessarily want to leave Kansas City when he requested a trade last offseason, but he wanted to be paid like the best wide receiver in the NFL.  Miami made him the highest-paid receiver in NFL history shortly after completing the trade.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m quite happy that [the trade] \u201cIt happened,\u201d Hill said.  &#8220;Obviously the situation I&#8217;m in is great. I have great teammates. My family is from Miami and I also accomplished one of my goals: to be one of the highest paid in the league. So, everything is good. Life is good, <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/man\/\"   title=\"man\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">man<\/a>. I can never take anything for granted. So, I can&#8217;t look back. You always have to look forward. That&#8217;s my state of &#8216;spirit.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is known for playing off-script.  Since 2018, he leads all active players in passing yards (16,187), passing touchdowns (121) and quarterback rating (69.4) when his throw time is above 2.5 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Hill said he offered one major piece of advice to his defensive teammates when plays break down and Mahomes starts to struggle: Find Travis Kelce.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2018, Kelce leads all players with 296 receptions on passes that take more than 2.5 seconds to attempt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat I told the guys is just find Kelce,\u201d Hill said.  &#8220;If you get Kelce open, man, he&#8217;s like the energy of this team. Although Pat is all over the place, if he finds Kelce and Kelce just catches a 2-yard pass, he finds some somehow energy and gets it. the team goes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hill said he&#8217;s looking forward to seeing Mahomes and Kelce, among other former teammates, and expects plenty of exchanges throughout the game.<\/p>\n<p>Not that he&#8217;s complaining.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s going to be trash talk, but it\u2019s going to be fun nonetheless,\u201d he said.  It&#8217;s going to be like, &#8216;I want to see you do good, but we&#8217;re going to bust your ass at the same time, though.&#8217;  It&#8217;s going to be one of those things like backyard <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/football\/\"   title=\"football\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">football<\/a> with your brothers.<\/p>\n<p>Hill was named to three All-Pro teams and six consecutive <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/pro\/\"   title=\"Pro\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">Pro<\/a> Bowls during his six years with the Chiefs, and he attributes his current success to that experience.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I look back on that time and I just say, &#8216;Man, he&#8217;s just a kid just trying to find his way in the league,'&#8221; he said.  &#8220;I was able to learn from so many guys, I was able to mature so quickly because I was able to take on a receiver role. It was a lot, and I kind of accepted that and I didn&#8217;t looked back.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The coaching staff trusted me there and I absolutely loved every minute of it.
