Google antitrust trial, including one that says: &#8220;Android is a huge tracking device.&#8221;  Another slide from the same document shows the difference in how Apple and Google approach privacy. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/d9\/2023-11\/417532.pdf\">All slides are considered test pieces<\/a> and have been redacted for the public to take a look at.<\/div>\n<div>The slide comparing Apple and Google&#8217;s privacy policies states that Apple:<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Combines data across services only when it provides a better customer experience.<\/li>\n<li>Supports separate accounts for iCloud, <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/app\/\"   title=\"App\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">App<\/a> Store, iTunes Store.<\/li>\n<li>Siri, Maps and iAd do not use Apple ID.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/google\/\"   title=\"Google\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">Google<\/a> side of the slide, it states that the company:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Combines data across services.<\/li>\n<li>No separate account support.<\/li>\n<li>A single connection connects voice search, maps, announcements, Google+, apps, messaging and calendar.<\/li>\n<li>Purchasing or updating an app requires a system-wide login.<\/li>\n<li>The only reasonable use case is full authentication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other slides compare how Apple and Google handle personal data.  In the \u201cSiri and Voice Search\u201d category, Apple states:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>User data related only to the use of Siri.<\/li>\n<li>Data persistence is under user control.<\/li>\n<li>Identification data never transferred to third parties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Google side of the slide says:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Voice search is linked to the Google account.<\/li>\n<li>On <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/galaxy\/\"   title=\"Samsung\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">Samsung<\/a> phones, once S Voice is used, subsequent voice search data is sent to Vlingo (backend for S Voice) and cannot be turned off.<\/li>\n<li>Transcriptions, contacts, location, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Yes, the slides are dated, as you can see from the inclusion of services no longer available from us, such as the iAd advertising platform and the S Voice virtual digital assistant.  Apple launched a privacy-based ad campaign in 2019 and kicked it off by placing a huge ad on the side of a Las Vegas building, directly across from the Las Vegas Convention Center which at the time hosted Consumer Electronics Show 2019.<\/div>\n<div>Mocking the famous saying that \u201cwhat happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,\u201d the giant sign read: \u201cWhat happens on your <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/iphone\/\"   title=\"iPhone\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">iPhone<\/a> stays on your iPhone.\u201d  While Steve Jobs had already passed away two years prior, his comments on privacy at the 2010 All Things Digital conference were included in the slides.
