Oppo’s latest mid-range smartphone offers good value for money, at least on paper. The A79 promises an \u201cinnovative AI camera\u201d and a bunch of other decent specs such as a massive battery, large screen, and 5G support.<\/p>\n
On a basic level, the new Oppo<\/a> A79 5G isn’t that impressive, but that’s understandable considering the price. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage (up to 1TB via microSD card).<\/p>\n Coming to the display, the Oppo A79 5G sports a large 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD display, featuring Panda Glass protection, 90Hz refresh rate, 680\u00b0 peak brightness nits and 391 ppi. <\/p>\n According to Oppo, the phone “Sunlight display<\/span>“allows users to see every detail even in direct sunlight. Additionally, the display is Widevine L1 certified, meaning Amazon Prime and Netflix stream in 1080p resolution.<\/p>\n Moving to the camera, the Oppo A79 5G offers a dual camera setup, which includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with Samsung<\/a> ISOCELL JN1 sensor and a 2-megapixel Omnivision OV02B1B depth sensor. There is also a secondary 8-megapixel snapper on the front for selfies.<\/p>\n Everything is kept alive thanks to a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W SUPERVOOC wired fast charging support.
