It’s a slippery slope that’s likely to drag on forever, but if you already own a Galaxy Watch 5 or even a Watch 4, you might want to wait until 2024 to get an upgrade.

A smartwatch more advanced than all the best Samsung phones?!

Yes, the Galaxy Watch 7 is apparently set to get a major improvement in at least one key department, according to industry sources cited by a prestigious Korean publication (translated here). From this particular perspective, Samsung’s next-generation Wear OS smartwatch will be more technologically advanced and sophisticated than even the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra handsets if this rumor materializes, which is absolutely mind-blowing and completely unusual for the company. and the mobile industry as a whole.

<picture style="padding-top: 66.666666666667%"></picture>

Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 beast is built on 4nm architecture.

While the S24 family of ultra-premium smartphones is expected to use 4nm-based Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Samsung Exynos 2400 processors (depending on your region) early next year, the Galaxy Watch 7 (and likely the Watch 7 Classic or Pro) would move up a notch in the silicon development ladder with 3nm technology.

This would obviously be the first time that a member of the Galaxy Watch family has beaten all Galaxy handsets to a breakthrough of this magnitude, although it goes without saying that the Galaxy S25 series is virtually guaranteed to adopt the same chip manufacturing of 3 nanometers. process in early 2025.

Why is this upgrade so crucial?

Simply put, smaller chips tend to be more power efficient than larger models, while still leaving more free space around them under the hood of a phone, tablet or laptop. smart watch for new or larger components. This space is almost always used to increase battery capacity or simply to reduce product weight, and it’s pretty clear which of these two options would be suitable for a device like the Galaxy Watch 7.

<picture style="padding-top: 66.666666666667%"></picture>

The Exynos W930 chip inside the Galaxy Watch 6 is manufactured using 5nm technology.

Given that the biggest weakness of almost every Wear OS-powered smartwatch to date is their battery life, we’d like to see Samsung put a larger cell inside the Galaxy Watch 7 compared to the Watch 6 and the Watch 5. And if the unnamed next-generation 3nm-based Exynos processor also reduces power consumption by design, real progress in battery endurance could come. prove to be quite substantial.

It’s certainly worth pointing out that both the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 5 feature 5nm-based Exynos SoCs, which would make the move to 3nm technology even more notable, exciting, and potentially revolutionary.

Naturally, the manufacturing process is just one ingredient in a chip’s recipe for value, which in turn is just one ingredient in a smartwatch’s power and appeal. In other words, it is still (much) too early to know whether or not the Galaxy Watch 7 will prove to be the best smart watch money can buy (late) 2024, although we’re definitely encouraged by this very early rumor.

The first Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 rumor is here, and it’s VERY encouraging، If you’ve been hesitant to buy Samsung’s recently launched Galaxy Watch 6 due to its relatively few clear and substantial upgrades over last year’s Galaxy Watch 5, today’s report on the Next year’s Galaxy Watch 7 is very likely to increase this […]

[1
3594,78,527,77,121
post-4551","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-technology","tag-encouraging","tag-galaxy","tag-rumor","tag-samsung","tag-watch
["GET
