Google Wallet now lets you share your boarding passes with a web or app link\u060c<\/p>\n

Google Wallet for Android is now rolling out a new feature that lets users share boarding passes and event tickets with others via a link. This feature, which was first revealed as part of the July Android system updates, provides a convenient way to share passes with friends and family members, especially those who don’t have not installed the Google Wallet app on their devices.<\/p>\n

As reported 9to5Google<\/a>, when opening an airline boarding pass or event pass, a share icon can now be displayed at the top left. This will open the system sharing sheet, where you can select the desired recipient to share the pass with.<\/div>\n
Once you select the recipient, Google Wallet will generate a unique link for the pass, which you can then share via any messaging app<\/a> or email. This link can either open the pass in the recipient’s own Wallet app, or, in the case of someone who doesn’t have an Android device, on a web page with a QR code. Please note that this will trigger a warning that once you have shared a pass, you cannot cancel it.<\/p>\n

This is a very convenient addition because it allows you to view and save a pass on any device, including desktops and iOS devices. This is particularly useful for boarding passes, as it means recipients do not need to have the Google Wallet<\/a> app installed on their devices to access their boarding pass or when a family member downloaded all the family cards on one device.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that this feature works with all airline boarding passes or event tickets yet. Google Support Site<\/a> contains instructions on how to share passes, but provides no details on the requirements for a pass to be “shareable”. As of today, some boarding and event passes on the app, as well as tickets and loyalty cards, continue to indicate that they cannot be shared.<\/div>\n

The new link-based pass sharing feature in Google<\/a> Wallet seems like a convenient and easy-to-use way to share passes with others and I see many cases where it will become very useful. Hopefully this feature continues to roll out and a clearer list becomes available as to what types of passes can be used with it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
