{"id":3674,"date":"2023-10-22T20:52:08","date_gmt":"2023-10-22T17:52:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/3674\/nfl-warns-teams-significant\/"},"modified":"2023-10-22T20:52:10","modified_gmt":"2023-10-22T17:52:10","slug":"nfl-warns-teams-significant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/?p=3674","title":{"rendered":"NFL warns teams &#8211; &#8216;Significant&#8217; discipline for fighting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NFL warns teams &#8211; &#8216;Significant&#8217; discipline for fighting\u060c<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The NFL has threatened to impose significant sanctions on any player or team involved in fights before or during games.<\/p>\n<p>In a memo obtained by ESPN on Sunday, the NFL told teams that fighting &#8220;is irreconcilable&#8221; with the league&#8217;s values \u200b\u200band &#8220;is never acceptable.&#8221;  The memo, sent Wednesday to senior management and head coaches of all 32 teams, also reiterated the league&#8217;s warm-up rules and outlined potential discipline.<\/p>\n<p>Any player or club staff member who fights before or during a match is subject to expulsion, suspension and\/or a \u201csignificant fine,\u201d according to the memo.<\/p>\n<p>Any team whose players or staff are involved in a fight could potentially lose a draft pick and\/or face a fine.  The NFL also said teams whose players or staff join an existing fight could potentially be &#8220;subject to greater accountability measures.&#8221;<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline inline-photo full\">\n<figure><picture><source data- media=\"(min-width: 376px)\"><source data- media=\"(max-width: 375px)\"><img class=\" lazyload lazyload\" data-image-container=\".inline-photo\" height=\"320\" width=\"570\"\/><\/source><\/source><\/picture><figcaption class=\"photoCaption\">The 49ers-Browns skirmish was one of two NFL pregame fights last weekend, prompting the league to remind all teams of its rules and penalties for fighting. <cite>Michael Zagaris\/San Francisco 49ers\/Getty Images<\/cite><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cFighting is never acceptable because it risks unnecessary injury to players, coaches, officials and other game day personnel,\u201d the league memo states.  \u201cThese actions send an inappropriate and unacceptable message to players, coaches and fans at every other level of the game.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline editorial float-r\" data-behavior=\"article_related\">\n<h2 class=\"editorial-title\">Editor&#8217;s Choice<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Two games last weekend \u2013 the 49ers&#8217; game against the Browns in Cleveland and the Cowboys&#8217; game against the Chargers on Monday night in Los Angeles \u2013 were marred by pregame fights.<\/p>\n<p>The NFL said no players were disciplined as a result of either fight, but stressed that it intends to &#8220;strongly enforce&#8221; its policies going forward.
