Spain 3-3 Brazil (26 Mar, 2024) Game Analysis،

Teenagers Lamine Yamal and Endrick were in the spotlight during Brazil's 3-3 draw with Spain on Tuesday in the “One Skin” international friendly match, organized to highlight the fight against racism after a series of insults addressed to Real Madrid striker Vinícius Júnior.

Vinícius was relatively calm in a match in which Brazil equalized with a penalty converted by Lucas Paquetá in stoppage time after Rodri's spot kick in the 87th had given Spain the lead.

Brazil recovered from a two-goal deficit with an equalizer scored by Vinícius' future Madrid teammate, Endrick, the 17-year-old Palmeiras player who had made his goalscoring debut for Brazil three days earlier.

Spain was led by 16-year-old Barcelona striker Yamal, who contributed to all three of the hosts' goals and received a standing ovation from the crowd at Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu stadium when he was substituted near the end of the match.

The international friendly came a day after Vinícius broke down in tears over the continued racist abuse he faced in Spain, saying he was losing the desire to continue playing but was committed to continuing his fight against racism.

Vinícius was warmly applauded when he replaced him in the 71st minute. However, the 23-year-old Brazilian, The Selecao captain on Tuesday, received some of the loudest boos when his name was announced before the game.

Brazilian players entered the field wearing black jackets launched by the Brazilian Football Federation before the friendly match, accompanied by the slogan “One skin, one identity”, in support of Vinícius' fight.

Vinícius, accused of provoking supporters and opponents, had verbal altercations with Spanish players, notably from the bench after leaving the match. He also pushed Spanish defender Aymeric Laporte from behind while play was stopped.

The friendly match was organized by Spanish and Brazilian football officials, amid the uproar that followed racist insults directed at Vinícius during a Spanish league match in Valencia 10 months ago. Many thought the incident would mark a turning point for football in Spain, but another wave of racist insults aimed at Vinícius followed.

While the main focus was on Vinícius, it was Yamal the more threatening with his speed and quick movements to get past Brazilian defenders.

Rodri gave Spain the lead by converting a penalty in the 13th minute after Yamal made a run down the right side and was brought down by João Gomes inside the area.

Vinícius had Brazil's first shot on goal in the 17th, but it was easily stopped by Spanish goalkeeper Unai Simón.

Dani Olmo was set up by Yamal before giving Spain the lead in the 36th after some clever moves inside the area, including a ball between the legs of Brazilian defender Beraldo.

Rodrigo brought Brazil closer in the 40th after an error by Simón, who gave away the ball and left the Madrid striker with a shot into an open net.

Endrick, who will arrive in Spain at the end of the season, equalized but was then taunted when he gave the ball away to allow Paquetá to take the late penalty that gave Brazil the equalizer.

Vinícius went to defend Endrick from the bench after the Spanish players complained loudly about a serious foul by his future teammate late in the match.

Spain, which is preparing for the next European Championship in Germany, had just lost 1-0 against Colombia on Friday in London.

Vinícius has been the victim of multiple racist insults since his arrival in Spain six years ago. He complained on Monday about the lack of sanctions against the perpetrators and asked for help from FIFA, UEFA and other football institutions in the fight against racism.
