These tools were first teased in September and have now been discovered in the latest beta version of the platform for Android.<\/p>\n<p>The tools were discovered during a deep code analysis by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thespandroid.blogspot.com\/2024\/03\/Whatsapp-Image-Editing-AI-Tools.html\" class=\"external\">@AssembleDebug from TheSPAndroid<\/a> in version 2.24.7.13 of the WhatsApp beta app for Android, revealing a variety of advanced editing options for users to easily enhance their photos.  These are not yet available to users but have been enabled through some code tweaks.  Among them are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Backdrop: The AI \u200b\u200bwill generate your ideal background based on what you describe and replace it for you.<\/li>\n<li>Restyle: Adds an artistic touch to your images by applying AI-generated filters and styles.<\/li>\n<li>Expand: This feature is supposed to seamlessly expand the background of your image, intelligently filling in any gaps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<div id=\"gallery-c1081003-aa96-4750-856d-d776e6370954\" class=\"single-image-container  image-c\" style=\"width:583px;max-width:100%\">\n<div class=\"gallery-item\">\n<picture style=\"padding-top: 227.44425385935%\"><source media=\"(max-width: 350px)\" ><source media=\"(min-width: 351px) and (max-width: 500px)\" ><source media=\"(min-width: 501px) and (max-width: 800px)\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/WhatsApp-working-on-implementing-AI-powered-image-editing-tools.jpg\" alt=\"WhatsApp is working on implementing AI-based image editing tools\"\/><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/picture>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Source: TheSPAndroid<\/span><\/p>\n<p>These tools would coexist with well-known features such as cropping and stickers in WhatsApp&#39;s current image editor under the &#8220;sparkle&#8221; icon.  This news follows announcements from Meta (WhatsApp&#39;s parent company) regarding similar AI editing features for Instagram and Facebook.  <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/whatsapp\/\"   title=\"WhatsApp\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">WhatsApp<\/a> following in these footsteps signals the company&#39;s intention to bring these advanced tools to its entire user base across the apps currently under the Meta umbrella.<\/p>\n<p>It&#39;s worth noting that similar AI-powered features, such as background expansion, already exist in established tools like Adobe Photoshop.  However, while these existing competing products offer these tools, they are far from perfect, although they have improved over time and technology.  This puts pressure on WhatsApp to deliver an intuitive and impressive user experience in order to stand out.<\/p>\n<p>It appears that these features are still in the early stages of development and may not appear in the stable version of the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/app\/\"   title=\"app\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">app<\/a> for a while.
