According to Market monitoring<\/a> (via Android Font<\/a>), Google Maps is the navigation application most popular with those looking to avoid getting caught in a speed trap. More than 1,000 U.S. drivers, with an average age of 41, were surveyed by the financial news site (50% were men, 50% were women) and data from Speedtrap.org was added to the mix. The result? A whopping 70% of drivers surveyed favor Google Maps.<\/div>\n

After Google Maps, Waze is the second most used navigation application by the drivers surveyed. Waze, also owned by Google, takes a participatory approach to obtaining information. Apple Maps isn't that far behind Waze, as the native iOS navigation app<\/a> is the favorite of 25% of drivers participating in the survey. In total, 34% of drivers surveyed said they had been warned of a speed camera<\/a> by a navigation application.<\/p>\n

Waze and Apple Maps users came next with 11% and 9% of their users reporting driving above the speed limit, respectively.<\/p>\n
