{"id":31679,"date":"2024-03-18T19:22:27","date_gmt":"2024-03-18T16:22:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/31679\/nottingham-forest-deducted-four-points\/"},"modified":"2024-03-18T19:22:28","modified_gmt":"2024-03-18T16:22:28","slug":"nottingham-forest-deducted-four-points","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/?p=31679","title":{"rendered":"Nottingham Forest deducted four points for financial rules breach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nottingham Forest deducted four points for financial rules breach\u060c<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"inline inline-photo full\">\n<figure><picture><source data- media=\"(min-width: 376px)\"><source data- media=\"(max-width: 375px)\"><img class=\" lazyload lazyload\" data-image-container=\".inline-photo\" height=\"320\" width=\"570\"\/><\/source><\/source><\/picture><figcaption class=\"photoCaption\">Nottingham Forest drop to 18th in the Premier League, one point from safety. <cite>Mike Egerton\/PA Images via Getty Images<\/cite><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Nottingham Forest have had four points deducted for breaching the Premier League&#39;s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), the league announced on Monday, moving the team into the relegation zone.<\/p>\n<p>Forest had 25 points after 29 games this season, but after Monday&#39;s deduction they will drop to 21 points and put them in 18th place, one point behind Luton Town.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Stream on ESPN+: LaLiga, Bundesliga, more (US)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is the second points deduction in the Premier League this season after Everton lost 10 points &#8211; reduced to six after appeal &#8211; for breaching the PSR and facing further sanctions for another breach over the course of from the same period as Forest.<\/p>\n<p>The independent commission determined the sanction following a two-day hearing this month, during which the club had the opportunity to detail a <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/series\/\"   title=\"series\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">series<\/a> of mitigating factors. The commission found that the club had shown \u201cexceptional cooperation\u201d in its dealings with the Premier League throughout the process,\u201d the Premier League said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The independent commission&#39;s report said Forest&#39;s charge warranted a six-point penalty, but this was reduced to four points after mitigation.<\/p>\n<p>Premier League regulations state that a club cannot lose more than \u00a3105 million ($133.6 million) over a three-year period.<\/p>\n<p>The rules apply differently to Forest, due to the fact they were in the second-tier Championship until 2022, where clubs are entitled to a maximum loss of \u00a339 million ($49.6 million ) over three seasons or \u00a313 million ($16.6 million) per season, meaning their allowed losses over the last three campaigns would amount to \u00a361 million ($77.7 million) ).<\/p>\n<p>Forest were charged in January with breaching these regulations during the period ending with the 2022-23 season.<\/p>\n<p>During their promotion ahead of the 2022-23 season, Forest broke the record for the most transfers by a Premier League club during the closing window with 21 separate deals completed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nottingham Forest deducted four points for financial rules breach\u060c Nottingham Forest drop to 18th in the Premier League, one point from safety.
