Sony&#39;s flagship Xperia phones feature ultra-high resolution 4K displays, but according to the latest leak, the Xperia 1 VI will have a 2K display.<\/div>\n<div>\n<div id=\"gallery-bbd81ecb-8512-49b7-8c06-1b8cc7e70dc0\" class=\"single-image-container  image-c\" style=\"width:915px;max-width:100%\">\n<div class=\"gallery-item\">\n<picture style=\"padding-top: 66.666666666667%\"><source media=\"(max-width: 350px)\" ><source media=\"(min-width: 351px) and (max-width: 500px)\" ><source media=\"(min-width: 501px) and (max-width: 800px)\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Xperia-1-VI-rumored-to-do-away-with-the-2.jpg\" alt=\"The Xperia 1 VI is rumored to remove the 2 things that make Sony phones unique\"\/><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/picture>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Xperia phones are instantly identifiable thanks to their large screen and their aspect ratio makes them easier to hold.  <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/sony\/\"   title=\"Sony\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">Sony<\/a> has reportedly decided to make its next premium phone a little wider and adopt a 19.5:9 aspect ratio.<\/p>\n<p>Even though Sony die-hards prefer high-resolution panels and a tall design, this could be one of the reasons why Sony&#39;s global market share is a paltry 0.35%. <\/p>\n<div>4K is overkill for most users, and high-resolution screens are also more expensive.  Perhaps the move to a 2K display will bring down costs, which can surely help the Xperia 1 VI become one of the best phones of 2024, but we&#39;re just speculating here. <\/div>\n<p>As for the tall design, while it can make multitasking easier by letting you pin a second <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/app\/\"   title=\"app\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">app<\/a> on top, not everyone prefers oddly proportioned screens.<\/p>\n<p>However, not all aspects of the design will change, meaning the Xperia 1 VI will retain the thick bezels of its predecessor instead of adopting punch-hole cutouts like the rest of the industry.
