{"id":30858,"date":"2024-03-13T17:32:06","date_gmt":"2024-03-13T14:32:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/30858\/man-united-bosses-tour-top\/"},"modified":"2024-03-13T17:32:07","modified_gmt":"2024-03-13T14:32:07","slug":"man-united-bosses-tour-top","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/?p=30858","title":{"rendered":"Man United bosses tour top clubs ahead of rebuild &#8211; source"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Man United bosses tour top clubs ahead of rebuild &#8211; source\u060c<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"article-meta\">\n<ul class=\"authors\">\n<li class=\"mugshot-shown\">\n<div class=\"author-img\"><\/div>\n<p>Rob Dawson, correspondent<span class=\"timestamp \">March 13, 2024, 10:18 a.m.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>Manchester United&#39;s recruitment team are touring Europe&#39;s biggest clubs ahead of the transfer window in a bid to kick-start the team&#39;s rebuild this summer, source tells ESPN .<\/p>\n<p>Director of <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/football\/\"   title=\"football\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">football<\/a> John Murtough and director of football negotiations Matt Hargreaves had lunch with Barcelona sporting director Deco in Spain on Monday and held meetings with Atl\u00e9tico Madrid on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Stream on ESPN+: LaLiga, Bundesliga, more (US)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Murtough and Hargreaves are also expected to meet their counterparts at Real Madrid as well as clubs in Portugal and Italy.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/united\/\"   title=\"United\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">United<\/a>, whose football operations are now run by new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, have money to spend in the summer window despite concerns over breaches of profit and sustainability rules.<\/p>\n<p>A new striker and centre-back are among the club&#39;s priorities, but the size of the squad overhaul will likely depend on how much money is raised from outgoing transfers.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline inline-photo full\">\n<figure><picture><source data- media=\"(min-width: 376px)\"><source data- media=\"(max-width: 375px)\"><img class=\" lazyload lazyload\" data-image-container=\".inline-photo\" height=\"320\" width=\"570\"\/><\/source><\/source><\/picture><figcaption class=\"photoCaption\">John Murtough (R) with Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag. <cite>Photo by Kevork Djansezian\/Manchester United via Getty Images<\/cite><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Mason Greenwood&#39;s future was a topic of discussion during Murtough&#39;s trip to Spain, although a source told ESPN that Barcelona, \u200b\u200bwho have been linked with the 22-year-old, have distanced themselves from the move.<\/p>\n<p>Greenwood impressed during a loan spell at Getafe, where he scored eight goals in 26 games, but United, sources say, are finding potential suitors still have concerns over the criminal investigation that ended his career at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n<p>Ratcliffe suggested the door could be open for the return of Greenwood, who is under contract until 2025, but sources told ESPN that a permanent departure this summer remains the most likely outcome.
