Helldivers 2 Director Dispels Rumors That Studio Has Been Bought by Sony\u060c<\/p>\n

Since its release in February, Helldiverse 2<\/strong> was a huge success for Arrowhead Game Studios. However, the company's CEO was informed that rumors were circulating regarding a possible acquisition. As such, a response was issued.<\/p>\n

On X, there has been speculation that developer Helldivers 2 was presented by publisher Sony<\/a>. This prompted the game's director, Johan Pilestedt, to take to the social media platform to dispel any rumors.<\/p>\n

In response to a user, Pilestedt said the news was “fake” unless the director had “missed something.”<\/p>\n

This stems from a now-deleted rumor from the fake Scoopster Haothors account, which stated that Sony's acquisition of Arrowhead would be announced soon. Pilestedt goes even further by asserting that the logo used in the message that refers to the rumor dates from 2008, thus calling into question the legitimacy of the speculation.<\/p>\n

Helldivers 2 has been extremely popular on PC and PS5 over the past month. It was also recently revealed that the latest patch for both versions of the game has started rolling out. This new update introduces “planetary dangers, balance updates and more”, according to a job<\/a> on the official X account.<\/p>\n

At the time of writing, Helldiverse 2<\/strong> is the most played game on Steam<\/a>, even beating the Steam Deck which generally remains steadfast at the top.
