{"id":28104,"date":"2024-02-27T18:25:51","date_gmt":"2024-02-27T15:25:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/28104\/valencia-deny-mestalla-access-to\/"},"modified":"2024-02-27T18:25:52","modified_gmt":"2024-02-27T15:25:52","slug":"valencia-deny-mestalla-access-to","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/?p=28104","title":{"rendered":"Valencia deny Mestalla access to Vin\u00edcius documentary team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Valencia deny Mestalla access to Vin\u00edcius documentary team\u060c<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"article-meta\">\n<ul class=\"authors\">\n<li class=\"mugshot-shown\">\n<div class=\"author-img\"><\/div>\n<p>Alex Kirkland, ESPN FC<span class=\"timestamp \">February 27, 2024, 2:22 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>The crew filming a documentary on Vin\u00edcius J\u00fanior were denied access to Valencia&#39;s Mestalla this weekend for the player&#39;s first match at the stadium since he was the victim of racist insults from the share of supporters last season.<\/p>\n<p>Vin\u00edcius was sent off during Real Madrid&#39;s 1\u20130 La Liga defeat at the Mestalla on May 21, 2023, having already suffered racist insults from the crowd.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Stream on ESPN+: LaLiga, Bundesliga, more (US)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Three people were accused of racist abuse during the match, with Vin\u00edcius giving evidence via <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/video\/\"   title=\"video\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">video<\/a> link in the ongoing case last October.<\/p>\n<p>A Brazilian team \u2013 working on behalf of the streaming service Netflix \u2013 has been filming a documentary on Vin\u00edcius in recent months and had requested accreditation to attend the player&#39;s return to the Mestalla on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>This request was rejected by Valencia, La Liga president Javier Tebas confirmed on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline inline-photo full\">\n<figure><picture><source data- media=\"(min-width: 376px)\"><source data- media=\"(max-width: 375px)\"><img class=\" lazyload lazyload\" data-image-container=\".inline-photo\" height=\"320\" width=\"570\"\/><\/source><\/source><\/picture><figcaption class=\"photoCaption\">Vin\u00edcius J\u00fanior was the victim of racist insults from supporters during a match against Valencia last year. <cite>Photo by Mateo Villalba\/Quality Sport Images\/Getty Images<\/cite><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cThese are decisions that the club makes and they are very difficult to make,\u201d Tebas said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They decided not to let the production company in. I absolutely have to respect that. They are more involved in the daily situation in Valencia, and for those of us who are far away, we can give our opinion on it .the situation would be a bit daring on our part.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think so [not allowing access to the production company] is a precautionary measure.  In fact, I&#39;m going to participate in the documentary and do an interview.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sources told ESPN that the documentary team was not given a reason for the denial of its accreditation request.<\/p>\n<p>They are now considering what steps to take, sources said, including whether to film interviews around the match outside the stadium, although there were some concerns about the team&#39;s safety, given the tensions surrounding this issue.<\/p>\n<p>Valencia reacted angrily to accusations that racist abuse against Vin\u00edcius was widespread around Mestalla.<\/p>\n<p>The club threatened legal action after the Brazilian&#39;s teammate Rodrygo Goes echoed earlier comments by Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti and said &#8220;the whole stadium&#8221; had been involved.<\/p>\n<p>Vin\u00edcius and Rodrygo both scored twice when the two clubs met earlier this season, in Madrid&#39;s 5-1 <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/win\/\"   title=\"win\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">win<\/a> at the Bernab\u00e9u on November 11.<\/p>\n<p><em>Reporting from ESPN&#39;s Adriana Garcia and Gustavo Hofman contributed to this report.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Valencia deny Mestalla access to Vin\u00edcius documentary team\u060c Alex Kirkland, ESPN FCFebruary 27, 2024, 2:22 p.m. The crew filming a documentary on Vin\u00edcius J\u00fanior were denied access to Valencia&#39;s Mestalla this weekend for the player&#39;s first match at the stadium since he was the victim of racist insults from the share of supporters last season.
