I don&#39;t understand, people are reporting lies. It irritates me a little.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For example, [the media] I talk a lot about my contract, my salary etc&#8230; it&#39;s a lot of smoke, a lot of lies, whether I earn 40 million euros or whatever.  It&#39;s far from what I earn \u2013 I won&#39;t say numbers, but we made up a story that isn&#39;t true.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;[The media] We need to change what they are doing to many coaches and players, because you are writing things and making things up that are not true.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#39;m really happy at Bar\u00e7a, I&#39;ve always said that. It&#39;s the club of my dreams, I hope I can play here for many more years.&#8221;<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline inline-photo full\">\n<figure><picture><source data- media=\"(min-width: 376px)\"><source data- media=\"(max-width: 375px)\"><img class=\" lazyload lazyload\" data-image-container=\".inline-photo\" height=\"320\" width=\"570\"\/><\/source><\/source><\/picture><figcaption class=\"photoCaption\">Frenkie de Jong has expressed his frustration with some media reports ahead of Barcelona&#39;s meeting with Napoli. <cite>Ciro Sarpa\/Getty Images<\/cite><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/aside>\n<p>The pattern of stories is similar to 2022, when Barca were ready to let De Jong leave the club with Manchester <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/united\/\"   title=\"United\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">United<\/a> among those interested.<\/p>\n<p>Many stories were published about his salary at the time, with De Jong later complaining that the club&#39;s hierarchy was behind the leaks.<\/p>\n<p>Despite all the noise, De Jong says he still enjoys playing for Barca.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI consider the club, it\u2019s my teammates, the locker room, the people I work with, the staff,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#39;s great, 10\/10. I&#39;m having a lot of fun. If people say that I&#39;m not playing well, that I&#39;m not at the level of Bar\u00e7a or whatever, that doesn&#39;t bother me, but we have to stop the lies.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;[The media] I write a lot of things that are not true.  For what?  Why do they invent things?  \u00bb<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline editorial float-r\" data-behavior=\"article_related\">\n<h2 class=\"editorial-title\">Editor&#39;s Choice<\/h2>\n<p>2 Related<\/p>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Bar\u00e7a coach Xavi Hern\u00e1ndez, who has also criticized the media this season and will resign at the end of the campaign, said he understood De Jong&#39;s frustrations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI totally understand Frenkie,\u201d he said.  &#8220;Everyone at Bar\u00e7a feels it because a lot of lies are reported. I understand.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For me he is a fundamental player, for me and for Bar\u00e7a for many years. I know he is happy here and he is very important for my system.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>De Jong joined Barca from Ajax in 2019 for an initial fee of \u20ac75 million and went on to make over 200 appearances for the club.<\/p>\n<p>He was speaking ahead of Barca&#39;s first Champions League knockout match since 2021, when they play Napoli in the first leg of their last-16 tie this <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/week\/\"   title=\"week\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jo\u00e3o F\u00e9lix and Sergi Roberto both return from injury for the match, with Gavi, Alejandro Balde, Marcos Alonso and Ferran Torres the only players still out.<\/p>\n<p>They face a Napoli team that sacked manager Walter Mazzarri on Monday, replacing him with Francesco Calzona.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNapoli changed coaches 24 hours before the match in a surprising way,\u201d added Xavi.  \u201cWith the change of coach, we don\u2019t know what will happen in the draw.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But they are the current Italian champions and a tough opponent.
