Chrome for Android may be getting the Desktop version’s “Tab Groups” feature\u060c<\/p>\n

If you're a fan of the existing tab organization tools that Chrome has on desktop, you'll be happy to know that the mobile version could adopt a very useful one. According to a recent update to Chrome Canary experimental build 124, the ability to create tab groups, even if you only have one tab to start with, will be available on Android. While desktop, Chrome has allowed single tab groups for some time. now this feature will be new in the Android experience. Spotted by @Leopeva64 on<\/a>this feature appeared for the first time back in January<\/a> in early versions of the mobile browser, however, at the time it was grayed out and therefore could not be used. In this latest version of Chrome Android Canary, however, the feature appears to be fully functional by enabling the experimental #android-tab-group-stable-ids flag.<\/p>\n

It's important to note that given that at present this only works with Chrome Canary and also requires the use of a flag, we can definitely say that this is still in its early stages . Chrome Canary is primarily for developers to test new features, and adding experimental flags to this mix makes the browser even more unstable. However, Chrome Canary is a really good way to get a taste of what Google<\/a> is working on for its browser, no matter how rudimentary the experience is.
