Collingwood captain Darcy Moore has opened up about the “pretty brutal” reality of the AFL after his grand final-winning teammate Jack Ginnivan was traded to Hawthorn during the trade period.<\/p>\n
Less than three weeks ago, both men were part of the Collingwood team that won the club’s 16th premiership.

Sign up now and start<\/a> streaming instantly ><\/b><\/i><\/p>\n Hawthorn quickly caught up and on Thursday Ginnivan was pictured wearing a Hawks<\/a> guernsey.<\/p>\n This isn’t the first time he’s been photographed wearing a Hawks jersey, however, as he grew up a crazy fan of the club.<\/p>\n But the look didn’t seem to suit his former skipper Moore very well.<\/p>\n Speaking on Thursday’s episode of The project<\/i> where he was a guest host, Moore was asked about considering Ginnivan a hawk<\/a>.<\/p>\n Waleed Aly asked, \u201cHow does it feel to see these colors<\/a> on him? \u00bb<\/p>\n Moore replied: \u201cIt feels weird. Jack, what are you doing? To come back.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s very surreal, isn\u2019t it?\u201d<\/p>\n Panelist and comedian Sam Taunton asked: \u201cIs he dead to you now?<\/p>\n Without missing a beat, Moore responded, \u201cWho died?\u201d I don’t know.”<\/p>\n Host Sarah Harris said: “Isn’t it weird playing side by side with this guy and the next minute seeing him in a different uniform, also knowing all the secrets of your team?”<\/p>\n Moore: \u201cI know, he’s going to tell all our secrets to the Hawks now. <\/p>\n “No, it’s weird but it happens every year, this reminder to all of us that professional sports, we love it and as teammates we are so connected and we look out for each other, but in times exchange, it’s quite brutal.”<\/p>\n Aly wondered if this had to happen so quickly.<\/p>\n The trade period (October 9-18) began a week after the Grand Final (September 30), while the free agency period began a few days earlier (October 6-13).<\/p>\n
