Now, iQOO is all set to add a new member to its Neo series in India: iQOO Neo 9 Pro 5G. It is confirmed that he will arrive in the country on the 22ndsd February 2024. The smartphone has a different design and some of its key specifications have also been revealed by iQOO. Coming to the camera, it has a dual-lens setup on the back that includes a 50 MP primary sensor and an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor. On the front is a 16MP selfie shooter. At Smartprix, we had the chance to spend time with the iQOO Neo 9 Pro camera earlier this month. In this article, we'll talk about how the iQOO Neo 9 Pro's camera setup went during our initial use.

QOO Neo 9 Pro camera hardware

Cameras

Features

Wide camera

50-megapixel Sony IMX920 sensor with f/1.88 aperture

Ultra-wide camera

8 megapixels (ultra wide angle) with f/2.2

Front camera

16 megapixel CMOS with f/2.45

Video recording capabilities

Up to 8K at 30fps

ALSO READ: 10 Best Paytm Alternatives for Online Payment Services in India

50MP main rear camera

The 50MP camera is a Sony IMX920 sensor and comes with optical image stabilization. There are three profiles for capturing images, namely Natural, Textured and Vivid. Natural mode clicks most color-accurate photos while textured mode optimizes camera algorithms for detailed and sharp images. Photos taken in textured mode show warmer undertones. The third mode, Vivid, captures images with energetic color saturation levels.

During our use, photos using a 50MP sensor were mainly taken in Natural or Vivid mode for landscapes. However, when you need more detail in your output, using Textured mode comes in handy. Subjects in indoor lighting conditions were also photographed correctly using textured mode.

Natural mode gives accurate colors but textured mode gives details, however, it changes the color temperature. We noticed a slightly inconsistent dynamic range in certain conditions. So the user has to decide what they want. You can take photos with 1x and 2x zoom levels and there is also a 50 MP high resolution mode.

Ultra wide angle camera

The 8 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor delivers images with plenty of detail, but not as much as the main camera. There is also a difference in color temperature when you compare the output of this lens to a 50 MP sensor. Additionally, ultra-wide-angle shots appear distorted from the edges.

Night mode

iQOO Neo 9 Pro comes with a dedicated night mode that uses the 50MP sensor to click photos. In areas with low artificial lighting, night mode captured clear, slightly detailed photos without much noise. Even enlarged, the image above contains plenty of details that certainly impressed us.

Portraits

Portraits clicked with Neo 9 Pro 5G are full of details, vibrant and sharp. When you switch to portrait mode, you will find that the skin enhancement features are enabled by default. The bokeh effect is there but it can be adjusted as needed. The subject in the frame has become the sole focal point of the portrait, leading to the emphasis on eye-catching elements.

Please keep in mind that these are just first thoughts on how the cameras are turned on. iQOO Neo 9 Pro was doing.
