He also managed Derby County in the Championship, the second tier of English <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/football\/\"   title=\"football\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">football<\/a>, and in MLS, DC United, from 2022 to 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The former footballer is a huge fan of boxing and has supported Ricky Hatton, Amir Khan and the Smith brothers (Liam, Callum, Paul and Stephen).<\/p>\n<p>Hatton is said to be a contender to train Rooney for his foray into boxing.<\/p>\n<p>As Misfits does not follow the rules of the British Boxing Board of Control, Rooney would not compete as a professional boxer.
