It's rumor season again for Google Pixel devices and so far it hasn't disappointed. As rumors began to swirl around the upcoming Pixel 9 and Pixel Fold 2, both of which are expected to release this fall with the latest Tensor G4 chipset, a mysterious new device has appeared on Geekbench that many believe could be one of these two. devices.<\/div>\n
Codenamed “Tokay”, which in nature is the name of a large gecko native to Asia and some Pacific islands, this new device has 8GB of RAM and runs on the latest Android 14. As reported by GSMArene<\/a> (via MySmartPrice<\/a>), the Geekbench 5 scores themselves weren't particularly impressive. However, there has been some interest in the CPU configuration, with an octa-core processor and a main core clocked at a fast 3.10 GHz. This definitely hints at an upgrade over the Pixel 8's Tensor G3 chip.<\/div>\n

There's also the intriguing codename “Tokay” to consider. Google loves to match the code names of devices using the same chip, and with the Pixel 9<\/span> the series would have code names like “Komodo” for the Pixel 9<\/span> and “Caiman” for the Pro<\/a> model, speculation is ripe that it could be a third Pixel 9<\/span> variant – perhaps the smallest size Pixel 9<\/span> Pro who has already been the subject of rumors.<\/p>\n
