Today's assumptions are tomorrow's realities. There's an interesting discovery in the latest Android 14 QPR3 beta that could turn out to be a full-fledged feature in the upcoming Android 15.<\/p>\n

Google could introduce a new “easy preset” mode that optimizes the readability of the operating system's user interface (via Android Authority<\/a>). In other words, it should make an Android phone easier to use by people who aren't tech-savvy (your grandma?) or have low vision.<\/p>\n

Android is full of settings and features that could be confusing to navigate, and the so-called “easy preset” mode could change things like icon and text size, navigation mode, and more. to make them larger and easier to use. with.<\/p>\n

Android expert Mishaal Rahman Google found code in the Android 14 QPR3 beta (which will be the platform's third quarterly release Android 14<\/span> when it becomes stable in June) pointing to a hidden settings page for a new feature called “easy preset”.<\/p>\n

According to these code results, “easy preset” mode will optimize the Android UI for “improved readability and ease of navigation.” It specifically does this by “enlarging icons and text, adding contrast and boldness, and adding navigation buttons to the bottom of the screen.”<\/p>\n

Mishaal was able to manually launch the settings page for this simple new preset feature, but has not yet been able to activate the new mode.
