Cheikh Jassim has reportedly withdrawn his takeover offer from Manchester United and turned his attention to Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.<\/p>\n

This is according to The Mirror, which reports that the Qatari businessman has been beaten by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is set to buy a 25 per cent stake in the Red Devils.<\/p>\n

Ratcliffe would take over the club in the future, with United’s board expected to vote on his decision to become the club’s biggest shareholder.<\/p>\n

This has forced Sheikh Jassim to look elsewhere, with the Qatari potentially buying Tottenham Hotspur due to his keen interest in Premier League<\/a> investments.<\/p>\n

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, owner of Qatar Sports Investments, has reportedly already met Spurs president Daniel Levy.<\/p>\n

Qatar hosted the 2022 World Cup, and regional rivals Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi own rival clubs Newcastle United<\/a> and Manchester City.<\/p>\n

Qatar Sports Investment Group would not make a bid to buy Spurs, but Sheikh Jassim could lead a consortium to take over the club.<\/p>\n

Spurs are currently the ninth most valuable team in the world according to Forbes, but with significant investment they could climb the rankings.<\/p>\n

Al-Khelaifi was previously reported to have given advice to Sheikh Jassim in his bid to gain 100% ownership of Manchester United<\/a>.<\/p>\n
