The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event that took place last month mainly focused on the new Galaxy S24 series and all its AI prowess. However, there was one piece of news that was quickly brought up towards the end of the event, leaving those of us present or watching wanting more information on: the new Galaxy Ring.<\/div>\n

Samsung<\/a> Galaxy Ring tease at Unpacked 2024 event<\/span><\/p>\n

With no details shared by the company – neither at the event nor at any time after – about Samsung's next smart ring, speculation quickly began about exactly how the health tracking device would work, how much it would cost and when to which it would be available. Fortunately, we have a little more information now thanks to a recent LinkedIn Post<\/a> (via SamMobile<\/a>) by Daniel Seung Lee, Samsung executive.<\/div>\n
According to Lee's post, the rough estimate for the Galaxy Ring's release places it around the second half of 2024. Given this extended timeline, the chances of a Mobile World Congress (MWC) launch later this month seem less likely. That leaves us with two options: either a separate event will take place, or the unveiling will take place alongside Samsung's foldable devices during its regular August Unpacked event.<\/div>\n

Details are still quite limited, aside from the timing of the launch. At January's Unpacked event, Samsung hinted at an integration with its health platform, Samsung Health. Avi Greengart, an analyst, also later confirmed that the product would be available in three different finishes and sizes, with the largest size being 13 inches.<\/p>\n

The Galaxy Ring joins the competitive smart ring market alongside established players such as Oura and McLear. It remains to be seen whether it will focus solely on Samsung Health's seamless connectivity or whether it will carve out a particular niche through medical integrations.
