Samsung recognizes Galaxy S24 Ultra muted screen problem and states a fix is coming\u060c<\/p>\n

The new Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra was received by consumers in a rather positive light. So much so that it broke pre-order records with a double-digit increase in global pre-orders <\/a>sales of the entire Galaxy S24 series \u2013 65% of which belong to the Ultra model \u2013 compared to the S23 series. Still, no device is ever perfect and this year's flagship from the Korean smartphone maker is no exception.<\/p>\n

Shortly after reviewers and early buyers of the S24<\/a> Ultra received their devices, reports began pouring in regarding the display. Massive praise for the new Corning Gorilla Glass Armor anti-glare screen coating was quickly overshadowed by claims that the screen's colors<\/a> appeared dull and muted.<\/div>\n

Initially it was thought that the problem was due to the new glass. However, attentive users have since revealed that the issue was actually a software bug affecting the Vivid display color mode, which prevented saturation from changing when switching between Vivid and Natural screen modes.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, we now have more clarity on what could be happening and have confirmation from Samsung<\/a> that this is actively being worked on. According to Forbes<\/a>in a screenshot of the support chat provided to them by a Galaxy S24 Ultra<\/span> user, Samsung has acknowledged the problem by admitting that its developer team is currently working on a solution. A solution which should come in the form of a software update.<\/div>\n

As the source pointed out, it's worth noting that media playback is not affected by the issue, so you can continue to watch videos and play games on Samsung's latest display with color capabilities up to 'til the bug is fixed. Unfortunately, the same screenshot also reveals that there is no clear timeline for the availability of this hotfix, but we hope it happens very soon.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
