The police then entered the crowd, forcing the referee to prevent the match from restarting.<\/p>\n<p>A message on screens inside the field read: &#8220;Please return to your seats. Entering the field of play is a criminal offense.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Wolves defender Craig Dawson tried to calm fans before players and staff from both teams descended into the tunnel as police sought to restore order inside the stadium.<\/p>\n<p>West Brom defender Kyle Bartley was seen summoning his family from the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/stands\/\"   title=\"stands\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">stands<\/a> as the players left the pitch.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline inline-photo full\">\n<figure><picture><source data- media=\"(min-width: 376px)\"><source data- media=\"(max-width: 375px)\"><img class=\" lazyload lazyload\" data-image-container=\".inline-photo\" height=\"320\" width=\"570\"\/><\/source><\/source><\/picture><figcaption class=\"photoCaption\">Violence in the stands caused the FA Cup match to be suspended for 38 minutes as police attempted to restore order. <cite>DARREN STAPLES\/AFP via Getty Images<\/cite><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/aside>\n<p>After a 38-minute break, the teams returned to the field as it was announced that the match would resume from the moment Cunha&#39;s goal was scored.<\/p>\n<p>Bartley was replaced by Erik Pieters when the match resumed.<\/p>\n<p>West Brom and Wolves are local rivals, with the teams&#39; respective stadiums located 11 miles apart in the West Midlands of England.  The game is called the Black Country derby.<\/p>\n<p>The match finished 2\u20130 and Wolves progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup.<\/p>\n<p>The English <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/football\/\"   title=\"Football\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">Football<\/a> Association (FA) said the incident was \u201ccompletely unacceptable\u201d. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FAspokesperson\/status\/1751612303005413518\">in a report<\/a> released after the match.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSafety and security are of the utmost importance, and the behavior of those involved is dangerous and inexcusable.
