Netball Australia pay dispute, Super Netball contracts, unemployed, no pay for players, bank of mum and dad, what is the pay dispute about, latest news\u060c<\/p>\n

Australian netballers have been forced to turn to the ‘bank of mum and dad’ as the Super Netball pay dispute shows no signs of being resolved quickly.<\/p>\n

The players have not been paid since their current Collective Player Agreement (CPA) expired on September 30 \u2013 and cannot be paid until a new agreement is in place.<\/p>\n

But the dispute is heading to mediation as the Australian Netball Players Association (ANPA) and Netball Australia<\/a> fail to agree on a revenue sharing model.<\/p>\n

Netballers have found support from the Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA) after their recent fight against Cricket Australia.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust like our 2017 players, netballers are currently relying on friends and family for financial support,\u201d said Todd Greenberg, CEO of the ACA.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is disappointing is that the demands of netballers are modest and affordable for the sport. The ACA believes they should have the same partnership opportunities as our players \u2013 the same opportunities that have allowed cricket to flourish.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ACA stands<\/a> with netballers and will do so until this campaign is successful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Former Australian netball<\/a> great Bianca Chatfield says it has been a very difficult time for players.<\/p>\n

“I’ve heard of players who had to move because they couldn’t sign a rental agreement or were struggling to pay their mortgage because there was a big gap between what Netball Australia was supposed to offer and what that players and players \u201cThe association wants,\u201d Chatfield said on Special issue<\/i>.<\/p>\n

Australian cricket great Alyssa Healy, who has experienced a pay dispute in the cricket industry, has described the entire netball ordeal as “ugly”.<\/p>\n

Swifts star Maddy Turner has admitted it’s a “super stressful” time for all the players left in limbo ahead of the 2024 season.<\/p>\n

“When you’re relying on that money to pay your rent, your groceries, everything… imagine your next paycheck doesn’t come. You look for other ways to make money,”<\/a> she said. declared to ABC.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s really disappointing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no salary coming in.\u201d<\/p>\n

Turner admitted she turned to the “bank of mom and dad” to pay her mortgage, while finding extra work where she could.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are some players who are really struggling,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are players who have had to rely on their families if they are lucky enough to have families who can support them.\u201d<\/p>\n
