Would You Consider The Galaxy Z Fold 6’s Affordable Version? There Might Be One Soon\u060c<\/p>\n

Samsung is one of the leading foldable manufacturers in the world. However, it could lose out to competition in China, where the company's Fold 5 doesn't perform well. However, the Korean tech giant is working on a more affordable version of its Galaxy Z Fold to deal with the situation.<\/p>\n

The entry-level Galaxy Z Fold 6 could cost around $1,200<\/h2>\n

According to The Elec's report, Samsung<\/a> Electronics plans to create an entry-level version of the proposed Fold 6. Since 2019, the company has updated its foldable lineup every year. In 2023, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, the company's latest foldable.<\/p>\n

However, the report suggests that the company may launch three foldable devices in 2024, including the regular Galaxy Z Fold 6, the low-end Z Fold 6, and the Z Flip 6. Samsung Electronics is considering creating a more affordable version of the Galaxy Z. Fold as the model does not perform as well as the Flip series<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 works better<\/h2>\n

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is smaller, offers flagship-grade performance, has a decent camera<\/a> setup, and most importantly, isn't as expensive as the Fold series. Therefore, Z Flip shipments are ahead of the Z Fold. Therefore, the lower-end Fold will fill the gap and give users a taste of what's inside the larger form factor foldable.<\/p>\n

The report, however, does not mention anything about the specifications of the more affordable version. However, there is a good chance that this model will feature a new mid-range chipset or an older flagship chipset. Other areas where the company can cut costs include cameras, high refresh rate displays and batteries.<\/p>\n

Samsung also plans to make this year's Z Fold thinner than its predecessors. When folded, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 measures 13.4mm, thicker than the Huawei Mate X3, which measures 11.8mm. Even though the latter is thinner, it houses a larger battery.<\/p>\n

With the more affordable Galaxy Z Fold and a thinner Fold 6, Samsung aims to capture a larger share of China's foldable market, where the company trails Honor and Huawei. Last month we reported how Samsung could change the overall form factor of its upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6.<\/p>\n

Given that Samsung's competition offers foldable devices in the $1,200 to $1,300 price range, there's a good chance the company is aiming for the same price range with its affordable version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. More details about the smartphone are expected to emerge in the coming days.<\/p>\n
