WhatsApp is developing its own Bluetooth sharing feature for nearby users. It will be available in a future version of the app, which more than 2.7 billion people now use. <\/p>\n

According to WABetaInfo<\/a><\/span>, the trusted source for WhatsApp scoops, the Meta-owned app is working on a Bluetooth file sharing tool for nearby users. To use it, both parties must open the \u201cShare Files\u201d section and stay there until the transfer is complete. Additionally, end-to-end encryption remains intact for secure sharing, just like WhatsApp's usual method of file sharing.<\/p>\n

WhatsApp recently introduced a feature allowing users to share files up to 2 GB in size, and now in the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android (version 2.24.2.20), available on the Google<\/a> Play Store , it has been discovered that WhatsApp is actively developing this new file sharing feature for nearby users.<\/p>\n

The screenshot is clear: users not only have to open the “Share Files” section for file exchanges, but also have to shake their device to generate a sharing request. This controlled approach adds an interesting, if impractical, twist to the sharing process.<\/p>\n

This feature could be useful for WhatsApp users, although with recent Quick Share updates from Google and Samsung<\/a>, its necessity might not match Meta's expectations. Google's Nearby Share and Samsung's Quick Share are expected to merge into a unified app named Quick Share. This simplified approach will simplify the process of sending photos, files and texts between Android phones.<\/p>\n

Still, introducing a feature in WhatsApp for sharing files with nearby users has its own benefits. This feature allows users to quickly share files with people nearby, which is perfect for situations requiring a quick and direct transfer.
