As Foxfooty.com.au reported the Magpies told Ginnivan to explore his options and he eventually requested a trade.<\/p>\n The Soldo deal will see Richmond collect a draft haul from the Power as they snared what is currently picks 41 and 49 plus Port\u2019s future second-rounder (tied to Fremantle) and their future fourth-round selection. Port Adelaide receive Soldo and what is currently pick 50.<\/p>\n The four-club deal has plenty of movement \u2013 with Essendon giving up their Pick 52 to the Bulldogs and their future third-rounder to Carlton. They receive St Kilda\u2019s Pick 35 and Carlton\u2019s future fourth rounder.<\/p>\n St Kilda also give up Pick 56 and Nick Coffield to the Bulldogs and their future fourth rounder (tied to Fremantle) to Carlton. They receive Paddy Dow and the Blues\u2019 future third-rounder and the Dogs\u2019 current Pick 40.<\/p>\n Carlton also get the Dogs\u2019 future fourth round selection, on top of those picks from Essendon and St Kilda.<\/p>\n 1PM – MOVE THAT COULD UNLOCK CHOL DEAL REVEALED<\/b><\/p>\n Ben Cotton reports …<\/i><\/p>\n Hawks tall Brandon Ryan\u2018s potential move to Brisbane could hold the key to unlocking Gold Coast forward Mabior Chol\u2019s trade to Hawthorn.<\/p>\n A second-round pick – either one expected to join the Hawks for Ryan via Brisbane or one tied to Collingwood from the Jack Ginnivan trade – is likely to get a Chol deal over the line.<\/p>\n It\u2018s understood the Suns and Hawks on Tuesday night discussed a Chol deal that centered around that Brisbane-linked second-rounder moving to Gold Coast along with pick swaps, but nothing eventuated. <\/p>\n <\/a>Gold Coast has been wanting a future selection for Chol and asked for Hawthorn\u2018s 2024 second-rounder – which has now been swapped with Collingwood\u2019s in the Ginnivan trade – while the Hawks were only prepared to give up their future third-rounder.<\/p>\n Ryan, a 2023 mid-season rookie, was first linked to trade talk via a potential Jack Gunston trade, but it\u2018s now believed those deals would be seperate.<\/p>\n 12.40PM \u2013 RIVAL SET TO LAND FRINGE SAINT<\/b><\/p>\n Out-of-favour St Kilda mid-forward Jack Billings will reportedly be traded to Melbourne.<\/p>\n The Age reported on Wednesday that Billings was now \u201ca good chance\u201d to land at Melbourne before the 7.30pm deadline, with the Dees \u201cquietly in talks\u201d to land him, according to the report.<\/p>\n Channel Seven reporter Mitch Cleary said a short time later Billings would be traded to the Dees, with the Saints to cover some of his remaining salary.<\/p>\n Billings, who\u2019s tied to the Saints until the end of 2025, endured a frustrating 2023 campaign, playing just three AFL matches this year due to leg, hamstring and thumb issues, as well as tight competition for spots in the Saints\u2019 best 22. He played eight VFL games for Sandringham, averaging 22.4 disposals per outing.<\/p>\n It was suggested earlier this week there was little rival club interest in Billings, who was taken by the Saints with Pick 3 in the 2013 draft.<\/p>\n It\u2019s expected the Saints won\u2019t ask for a high pick in return, but how much of Billings\u2019 contract the Demons would pay remains unclear. Herald Sun reporter Jon Ralph told Fox Footy\u2019s Trading Day earlier this week the Saints \u201cwould be prepared to foot some of that bill\u201d for Billings if a rival club suitor emerged.<\/p>\n Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs had previously been linked to Billings.<\/p>\n 12:20PM – BOMBERS SEEK CLARITY ON AFL <\/b><\/p>\n Essendon has reportedly sought clarity from the AFL over a rule that could see the club lose Massimo D\u2019Ambrosio for nothing. <\/p>\n D\u2019Ambrosio wants to play for Hawthorn in 2024, but the Bombers initially knocked back a late pick offer from the Hawks.<\/p>\n Under the AFL\u2019s rules, \u201cA second-year Rookie not accepting a further Rookie contract will be considered a Delisted Free Agent, and therefore will be an Unrestricted Free Agent.\u201d<\/p>\n D\u2019Ambrosio was a mid-season rookie draft pick in 2022 and would then become a delisted\/unrestricted free agent if he declines Essendon\u2019s one-year deal for him to stay.<\/p>\n SEN reporter Tom Morris said on Wednesday the Bombers believed the rule should not apply because the classification of a mid-season draftee changed after D\u2019Ambrosio requested a trade.<\/p>\n King returns to Cats as assistant coach | 00:32<\/p>\n 11.45AM – GINNIVAN-HAWKS TRADE IS ON!<\/b><\/p>\n Jack Ginnivan\u2019s time as a Magpie is over, with the Collingwood premiership forward agreeing to be traded to Hawthorn, according to multiple outlets.<\/p>\n It emerged on Tuesday that the Magpies were open to trading Ginnivan, with the Hawks quickly emerging as the front-runner.<\/p>\n AFL Media\u2019s<\/i> Riley Beveridge first reported on X on Wednesday morning that not only had Ginnivan agreed to be dealt to Hawthorn, the two clubs had, in fact, already struck a deal.<\/p>\n As well as Ginnivan joining the Hawks, Collingwood and Hawthorn will swap their respective future second-round picks, with other selections to be exchanged to sweeten the deal.<\/p>\n While Ginnivan, who\u2019s contracted to Collingwood for next season, started on the field for last month\u2019s Grand Final triumph over Brisbane, he played just 14 games in 2023, including five as the starting sub.<\/p>\n Former Hawk Ben Dixon on Tuesday night said Ginnivan would be \u201ca perfect fit\u201d for Hawthorn.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s right in the sweet spot for where Hawthorn is at now, at 20 years of age,\u201d Dixon told Fox Footy\u2019s AFL Trading Day<\/i>.<\/p>\n 11.30AM – DEADLINE DAY WINDOW TO OPEN EARLIER<\/b><\/p>\n Trades can officially be lodged today from 2pm (AEDT), the AFL has confirmed.<\/p>\n In recent years on deadline day , clubs have only been able to hand in trade paperwork from 3pm ahead of the 7.30pm deadline.<\/p>\n But the league on Wednesday morning confirmed the window had been brought forward by an hour, with the first announcement to be made at 2pm.
