As Foxfooty.com.au reported the Magpies told Ginnivan to explore his options and he eventually requested a trade.<\/p>\n<p>The Soldo deal will see Richmond collect a draft haul from the Power as they snared what is currently picks 41 and 49 plus Port\u2019s future second-rounder (tied to Fremantle) and their future fourth-round selection. Port Adelaide receive Soldo and what is currently pick 50.<\/p>\n<p>The four-club deal has plenty of movement \u2013 with Essendon giving up their Pick 52 to the Bulldogs and their future third-rounder to Carlton. They receive St Kilda\u2019s Pick 35 and Carlton\u2019s future fourth rounder.<\/p>\n<p>St Kilda also give up Pick 56 and Nick Coffield to the Bulldogs and their future fourth rounder (tied to Fremantle) to Carlton. They receive Paddy Dow and the Blues\u2019 future third-rounder and the Dogs\u2019 current Pick 40.<\/p>\n<p>Carlton also get the Dogs\u2019 future fourth round selection, on top of those picks from Essendon and St Kilda.<\/p>\n<p><b>1PM &#8211; MOVE THAT COULD UNLOCK CHOL DEAL REVEALED<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>Ben Cotton reports &#8230;<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Hawks tall Brandon Ryan\u2018s potential move to Brisbane could hold the key to unlocking Gold Coast forward Mabior Chol\u2019s trade to Hawthorn.<\/p>\n<p>A second-round pick &#8211; either one expected to join the Hawks for Ryan via Brisbane or one tied to Collingwood from the Jack Ginnivan trade &#8211; is likely to get a Chol deal over the line.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2018s understood the Suns and Hawks on Tuesday night discussed a Chol deal that centered around that Brisbane-linked second-rounder moving to Gold Coast along with pick swaps, but nothing eventuated. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/2563\/jack-ginnivan-blame-game-collingwood-magpies\/\"><\/a>Gold Coast has been wanting a future selection for Chol and asked for Hawthorn\u2018s 2024 second-rounder &#8211; which has now been swapped with Collingwood\u2019s in the Ginnivan trade &#8211; while the Hawks were only prepared to give up their future third-rounder.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan, a 2023 mid-season rookie, was first linked to trade talk via a potential Jack Gunston trade, but it\u2018s now believed those deals would be seperate.<\/p>\n<p><b>12.40PM \u2013 RIVAL SET TO LAND FRINGE SAINT<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Out-of-favour St Kilda mid-forward Jack Billings will reportedly be traded to Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>The Age reported on Wednesday that Billings was now \u201ca good chance\u201d to land at Melbourne before the 7.30pm deadline, with the Dees \u201cquietly in talks\u201d to land him, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>Channel Seven reporter Mitch Cleary said a short time later Billings would be traded to the Dees, with the Saints to cover some of his remaining salary.<\/p>\n<p>Billings, who\u2019s tied to the Saints until the end of 2025, endured a frustrating 2023 campaign, playing just three AFL matches this year due to leg, hamstring and thumb issues, as well as tight competition for spots in the Saints\u2019 best 22. He played eight VFL games for Sandringham, averaging 22.4 disposals per outing.<\/p>\n<p>It was suggested earlier this week there was little rival club interest in Billings, who was taken by the Saints with Pick 3 in the 2013 draft.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s expected the Saints won\u2019t ask for a high pick in return, but how much of Billings\u2019 contract the Demons would pay remains unclear. | 01:31<\/p>\n<p><amp-analytics type=\"adobeanalytics\" id=\"adobeanalytics\" class=\"i-amphtml-layout-fixed i-amphtml-layout-size-defined\" style=\"width:1px;height:1px;\" i-amphtml-layout=\"fixed\"\/><\/div>\n<p><b>9AM &#8211; WANTAWAY RUCK\u2019S \u2018DEAL IS AGREED\u2019<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Port Adelaide will officially bring in a new No. 1 ruckman on deadline day, with the club and Richmond reportedly agreeing on a deal for contracted ruck Ivan Soldo.<\/p>\n<p><i><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/caltwomey\/status\/1714401126509166790\">AFL Media<\/a><\/i><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/caltwomey\/status\/1714401126509166790\"> reported Cal Twomey wrote on X<\/a> on Wednesday morning that the Power would send a future second-rounder and Pick 41 to Richmond for Soldo, while there\u2019d be an exchanging of other selections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe deal is agreed,\u201d Twomey wrote.<\/p>\n<p><b\/>Premiership Tiger Soldo last month was linked to Port Adelaide, despite being contracted to Richmond until the end of the 2024 seasons.<\/p>\n<p>The Power confirmed they were interested in Soldo as they\u2019re in the market for a first-choice ruck.<\/p>\n<p>Port is also trying to secure deadline day deals for Esava Ratugolea (Geelong), Brandon Zerk-Thatcher (Essendon) and Jordon Sweet (Western Bulldogs) \u2014 although they are prepared to try and walk Ratugolea and Zerk-Thatcher to a draft next month.<b\/><b\/><b\/><\/p>\n<p><b>8AM &#8211; LIONS STILL PURSUING TALL HAWK AS HOPE FOR BILLINGS GROWS<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Brisbane is ramping up its efforts to prise tall Brandon Ryan out of Hawthorn on the final day of trade period.<\/p>\n<p><i>The Age\u2019s<\/i> Peter Ryan is reporting the Lions are keen on Ryan, with the mid-season draftee emerging as a trade target after veteran Jack Gunston requested a trade back to his old club.<\/p>\n<p>The Lions are interested in having Ryan part of a Gunston deal. <\/p>\n<p>Ryan played three games for Hawthorn after being taken at Pick 12 in the 2023 mid-season draft and is contracted at Hawthorn for one more year, having signed an extension as recently as September. <\/p>\n<p>Reports from several outlets have confirmed Ryan over the weekend met with the Lions, who have reportedly offered him a multi-year deal to move north.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, there is an expectation the deal that sends Mabior Chol to Hawthorn will get completed in a three club deal that would send Jacob Koschitzke to Richmond.<\/p>\n<p>There is also hope for out-of-favour St Kilda midfielder Jack Billings, who could still yet find himself a new home by the 7:30pm deadline. <\/p>\n<p><b>6AM &#8211; ICY TRADE TALKS THAW FOR CRUCIAL CAT AS PORT DREAM OF FOUR-DEAL DAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>David Zita reports&#8230;<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Port Adelaide and Geelong have progressed in talks for Esava Ratugolea to be traded on Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p><i>Foxfooty.com.au<\/i> understands there were more substantive talks on Tuesday after the previous eight days had yielded little progress on the future of Ratugolea, who wants to play for Port Adelaide in 2024 and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>The thawing in dialogue makes Ratugolea more likely to find a new home via trade and deliver Port Adelaide one of its four targets; Brandon Zerk-Thatcher, Jordon Sweet and Ivan Soldo the others. <\/p>\n<p>There had been little dialogue between the two parties prior to Tuesday, with the Power\u2019s offer of pick No.25 quickly rebuked by the Cats.<\/p>\n<p>Essendon wants Power winger Xavier Duursma to be traded in a straight swap for Zerk-Thatcher, while the Power believe they should receive more. <\/p>\n<p>Soldo is open to a move to play for the Power, but Richmond remains intent on holding the 27-year-old to the final year of his current deal.<\/p>\n<p>Fellow ruckman Sweet is considered more likely to land at the Power.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wednesday October 18 deadline day trades blog, live updates, done deals, latest, confirmed moves, chat, rumours\u060c The deals have finally begun on deadline day.
