Apple’s footnote reveals when to expect iOS 17.3 to be released\u060c<\/p>\n

If you own an iPhone, you may be eager to install iOS 17.3 for several reasons. Firstly, the Stolen Device Protection feature available in the new version of iOS will make it more difficult for someone to steal your device. With this feature, your iPhone<\/a> will detect if it is away from home or work and request that Face ID or Touch ID be used to verify the identity of the person requesting certain tasks to be performed. THE iOS 17<\/span>Update .3 also comes with the Apple Music Collaborative Playlist.<\/div>\n
According to Apple, iOS 17<\/span>.3 will be released the week<\/a> of January 22, which is the week starting next Monday. The information has been listed in a footnote in an Apple Newsroom article<\/a> about the upcoming release of Unity Bloom wallpaper for iPhone and iPad which would need iOS 17<\/span>.3 to install.<\/div>\n

With the Stolen Device Protection feature, the following tasks will require Face ID or Touch ID to verify the identity of the person using the phone:<\/p>\n

  • View\/use passwords or passkeys saved in iCloud Keychain<\/li>\n
  • Request a new Apple Card<\/li>\n
  • Viewing an Apple Card virtual card<\/li>\n
  • Turn off Lost Mode<\/li>\n
  • Erasing all content and settings<\/li>\n
  • Perform certain Apple Cash and Savings actions in Wallet<\/li>\n
  • Use saved payment methods in Safari<\/li>\n
  • Use your iPhone to set up a new device<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    In addition to using biometrics to verify your identity, the new feature will delay certain tasks for an hour before completing them. This is done to give the iPhone theft victim time to realize their phone has been stolen and call Apple to prevent any changes. Tasks that require Face ID or Touch ID and will be delayed by one hour include:<\/p>\n

    • Change your Apple ID password<\/li>\n
    • Updated some Apple ID account security settings, including adding or removing a trusted device, trusted phone number, recovery key, or recovery contact<\/li>\n
    • Change your iPhone password<\/li>\n
    • Adding or removing Face ID or Touch ID<\/li>\n
    • Turn off Find My<\/li>\n
    • Disable stolen device protection<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      As we said, iOS 17<\/span>.3 will include collaborative playlists on Apple Music. This feature, which was delayed after being removed on iOS 17<\/span>.2, allows others to create a playlist for your Apple Music account by giving them the ability to add songs, remove songs, and change the order of songs on the list. Emojis can be shared in the Now Playing interface to react to song choices. <\/p>\n
