Benzema, who has two and a half years left on his contract, has been criticized by the Saudi media for his performances.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline inline-photo full\">\n<figure><picture><source data- media=\"(min-width: 376px)\"><source data- media=\"(max-width: 375px)\"><img class=\" lazyload lazyload\" data-image-container=\".inline-photo\" height=\"320\" width=\"570\"\/><\/source><\/source><\/picture><figcaption class=\"photoCaption\">Karim Benzema&#39;s Al Ittihad were beaten 5-2 by Cristiano Ronaldo&#39;s Al Nassr in December. <cite>Photo by Yasser Bakhsh\/Getty Images<\/cite><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Sources have told ESPN that the Premier League could be an option for Benzema, with several clubs including Chelsea expressing interest in the veteran striker.<\/p>\n<p>A return to Real Madrid, where the former French international spent 14 years, is not considered a possible solution.<\/p>\n<p>Benzema is still stuck in Mauritius after tropical cyclone Belal hit the region and halted all flights in and out of the island.  Al Ittihad are in training camp in Dubai, and Benzema will join the team and manager Marcelo Gallardo as soon as he is able.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/week\/\"   title=\"week\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">week<\/a>, Benzema filed a defamation suit against French Interior Minister G\u00e9rald Darmanin, who accused the star of having links to the Muslim Brotherhood.<\/p>\n<p>Darmanin said in October that Benzema had \u201ca notorious connection\u201d to the Muslim Brotherhood \u2013 a pan-Arab Islamist group that came to power in Egypt following elections a year after the 2011 popular uprising \u2013 because Benzema had posted a message from Online support for the Muslim Brotherhood.  the population of Gaza at the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/start\/\"   title=\"start\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">start<\/a> of the war between Israel and Hamas.<\/p>\n<p>In his complaint filed Monday before the Court of Justice of the Republic, Benzema firmly denied any link with the Muslim Brotherhood or with any member of the organization.
