South Sydney assistant coach John Sutton has sent a warning to Rabbitohs players and revealed the next wave of stars coming through the famous club.<\/p>\n

Jason Demetriou’s side shockingly missed the finals in 2023, with their fate sealed after a final round defeat to the Roosters.<\/p>\n

Assistant coaches Sam Burgess and John Morris have both already left the club, with Sutton, the Rabbitohs’ longest-serving player, promoted to the role.<\/p>\n

He joins Ben Hornby and NSW Cup-winning coach Joe O’Callaghan in Demetriou’s squad ahead of the 2024 season, ready to spark change at Redfern.<\/p>\n

\u201cSimply put, there are no excuses next season,\u201d Sutton told the Daily Telegraph.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is nothing like hard work and we will work hard from day one of pre-season to be ready for the new year.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust being able to work with freshmen now and being more involved is something I\u2019m really looking forward to.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to doing a lot of work for the younger players on the team, which I love doing.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Rabbitohs will welcome high-profile recruit Jack Wighton to the club in 2024, with Sutton revealing he will likely feature in the centres.<\/p>\n

This means that Isaiah Tass will be ousted from his position, with a tougher battle for the right-wing position.<\/p>\n

Tass, alongside Taane Milne and Izack Thompson will compete for the winger position, but Sutton believes Tyrone Munro is a player to watch.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe sky is the limit for Tyrone Munro, he can be anything,\u201d Sutton said.<\/p>\n
