For now, the studio has confirmed that the highly anticipated sequel will arrive on PC and Xbox Series X|S on September 5.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"is-style-normal is-style-heading-rubik\" id=\"h-one-last-delay\">One last delay<\/h2>\n<p>A recent \u2013 \u200b\u200band rather long \u2013 <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/stalker_thegame\/status\/1747289671321702804\">Twitter post<\/a> of the developer shared &#8220;honest thoughts&#8221; with fans who have waited a long time for STALKER 2 to arrive. It has been a &#8220;challenging development process&#8221; for the team, especially against the backdrop of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which GSC had to flee.<\/p>\n<p>However, the release is proud to announce the good news of the game&#39;s &#8220;final release date.&#8221; This means yet another delay, but most of it will be understandable given the trials and tribulations GSC has been through.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl \u2014 Final Release Date Announcement\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6o6D_a3PAHw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The message goes on to say that &#8220;preparations must be made to ensure that the trip to the Zone goes smoothly and as planned,&#8221; adding a thank you to fans for their &#8220;patience and support.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The trailer above is nice and subtle, showing soldiers sitting around a campfire, sipping drinks while a gentle acoustic guitar plays.  Next comes the release date, which hopefully signifies the end of long and arduous development.<\/p>\n<p>The upcoming follow-up is the fourth installment in the STALKER <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/series\/\"   title=\"series\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">series<\/a>.  The first game was released in 2007, with Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat launching in 2008 and 2009 respectively. It&#39;s been 15 years since the last entry.  The timeline on the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/S.T.A.L.K.E.R.\">Wikipedia page<\/a> gives a visual representation of the magnitude of this gap.<\/p>\n<p>So mark your calendars for September, because STALKER 2 is coming, but that&#39;s still a few months away.
