They scan and select the most scandalous products from the annual CES forum and \u201creward\u201d them in various categories, such as \u201cPrivacy\u201d, \u201cSecurity\u201d, \u201cRepairability\u201d and\u2026 \u201cEnshittification\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cEnshittification\u201d is the word of 2023<\/a>, according to the American Dialect Society. As Wikipedia says, Enshittification is also known as platform decline \u2013 the pattern of decreasing quality of online platforms that act as two-sided marketplaces. <\/p>\n

Back to the \u201cWorst in Show\u201d awards. iFixit judges awarded them based on product-related questions like “How bad is this product?” “, “Are the problems with this gadget innovative? “, “To what extent do the negatives outweigh the positives? ” And much more.<\/p>\n

The problem with headphones<\/h2>\n

In the \u201cRepairability\u201d category, Kyle Wiens, CEO of iFixit, picks the anti-price for the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 headphones<\/a>. \u201cIf you spend $300 on a headset, you expect it to last. Especially if it\u2019s Sennheiser, the trusty brand known for its bulletproof and durable over-ear headphones,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n
