1. Entertainment \u2013 \u200b\u200bNetflix and Tik-Tok reign supreme!<\/span><\/p>\n

The report has two distinct categories of \u201centertainment\u201d: one is called OTT (over-the-top media service \u2013 online streaming services) and the other is \u201cshort-form videos\u201d. Netflix climbs above Disney+ and Hulu, leaving Paramount, HBO Max, Amazon's Prime Video<\/a> and more behind. TikTok is out of control \u2013 this query accounts for 6 of the top 10 App<\/a> Store searches in the \u201cEntertainment \u2013 \u200b\u200bShort Videos\u201d section. More than that, it is found in first, second and third place, just written differently \u2013 “tik tok”, “tiktok” and “'tiktok'” (in apostrophes). Some have also misspelled it as “tick-tock”.<\/div>\n

2. Finance \u2013 no gold medal for PayPal<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFinance\u201d is also divided into two. The first subcategory \u2013 \u201cBudget & Spending Tracker\u201d \u2013 is dominated by Mint, followed by the generic query \u201cbudget app,\u201d and the EveryDollar app comes in third in terms of popularity. The fact that money is going to a generic search phrase (instead of a concrete application) shows that while people may want “budget and spending tracking” services, they don't have enough of knowledge on the subject and are looking for suggestions. On the other hand, everyone knows what TikTok is!<\/p>\n

When it comes to the \u201cDigital Wallets & Payment\u201d subcategory, Cash App steals the top position from PayPal. Venmo is the third most sought-after digital paid service.<\/p>\n

3. Food and drinks \u2013 Mickey D\u2019s comes before Starbucks<\/span><\/p>\n

Ah, yum. Let's take a look at “Food and Drink” which is also divided into two: “Grocery Delivery” and “QSR” (QSR stands<\/a> for Quick Service Restaurants). For \u201cGrocery Delivery,\u201d Instacart is king, followed by HelloFresh and Shipt.<\/p>\n

In the \u201cQSR\u201d subcategory, McDonald\u2019s is king, while Burger King is number 10 in terms of popularity in the App Store. Starbucks comes in second, while Chick-fil-A is third.<\/p>\n

The rest of the 2023 App Store most wanted <\/h2>\n

For the \u201cHealth & Fitness\u201d categories, people in 2023 were most searching for the Fitbit app, along with Fitness+, Strava, Garmin and more. In the field of “photo editing”, the “number one” is Picsart, while the essentials Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom did not even make the top 3. For video editing, CapCut comes out on top, while the GoPro application was last in popularity.<\/p>\n

On the \u201csocial media\u201d front, unsurprisingly, the Reddit app is the most searched for. If we're talking about online dating \u2013 you wouldn't have guessed it \u2013 Tinder is the most popular search query in the App Store for 2023.
