Assessing Mbapp\u00e9\u2019s options<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Madrid, a long-time admirer, remains the main contender for his signature.  The club have repeatedly tried to sign him since he was 11, coming closest in May 2022 when they were convinced he had agreed to join before he decided to stay in Paris.<\/p>\n<p>Despite reports in France on Monday that Mbapp\u00e9 had agreed to join Madrid, ESPN sources did not indicate that an agreement had been reached and that there remained contact between the two parties.<\/p>\n<p>Sources have told ESPN that Mbappe has long been an admirer of Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp, and the 25-year-old striker has not ruled out a move to the Premier League.  However, a move to Liverpool could prove difficult, with the club unlikely to be able to afford his current salary of around \u20ac650,000 per <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/week\/\"   title=\"week\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">week<\/a> ($712,000).<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline inline-photo full\">\n<figure><picture><source data- media=\"(min-width: 376px)\"><source data- media=\"(max-width: 375px)\"><img class=\" lazyload lazyload\" data-image-container=\".inline-photo\" height=\"320\" width=\"570\"\/><\/source><\/source><\/picture><figcaption class=\"photoCaption\">Kylian Mbapp\u00e9 must decide whether to sign a new contract with PSG or leave at the end of the season. <cite>Christian Liewig &#8211; Corbis\/Getty Images<\/cite><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Sources added that Mbapp\u00e9 could accept less money in his next contract if he leaves PSG, but there would also be a significant signing fee for him to join as a free agent.  Financially, any potential decision would likely revolve around the future of Mohamed Salah, who was the subject of an offer from the Saudi <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/pro\/\"   title=\"Pro\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">Pro<\/a> League last summer, although Mbapp\u00e9 wants to decide on his future soon, meaning that timing could also prove to be a major stumbling block.  .<\/p>\n<p>PSG remains very keen to keep Mbapp\u00e9, who is the club&#39;s top scorer, but the club has agreed not to pay a substantial loyalty bonus of around 80 million euros in the event of his departure.
