One of the most underrated benefits of having an iPhone instead of an Android is the endless options you have when it comes to accessories.<\/span><\/p>\n

I recently had to pick out a few cases for my iPhone 15 Pro Max and Pixel 8 Pro, and it reminded me (once again) of the huge disparity between Apple and Google's ability to attract phone makers. accessories. Sure, you get a wider selection with something like a Galaxy flagship, but even then Apple wins the variety category by some margin. Of course, the two most popular accessories that almost everyone is looking to buy after shelling out $1,000 for a new phone they don't want to break are their cases and screen protectors, which is why case makers have on a mission to create a single shell to rule them all.<\/p>\n

For some, it's a “military-grade protective case”, which would definitely ensure that your phone remains intact even after the harshest of drops. Of course, the downside is that these cases are very bulky and heavy, turning a compact phone like the iPhone<\/a> 15 into a large, and already bulky device like the iPhone 15 Pro Max<\/span> in a brick.<\/p>\n

Of course, another alternative is a thinner case, which still protects your phone but doesn't make it as bulky. However, what about those of us who want the feeling of using our iPhone as intended? Without or \u201calmost without\u201d a file?<\/p>\n

This is where the \u201cbumper cases\u201d come in\u2026 And more precisely the one that caught my attention but perhaps not in a good way\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

To be clear, I did not purchase the Bamplio Edge Case<\/span>, so this is not an angry speech from a disappointed customer. But what struck me was how easily people seem to fall for an overpriced product. Indeed, I came across the Bamplio affair via a Tweet from @andrewjclare<\/a>, and my desire for justice on Twitter was immediately triggered. For the record, I have nothing against Andrew, and he is free to promote whatever he wants.<\/p>\n

While the idea of \u200b\u200ba discreet and barely noticeable bumper for the already large iPhone 15 Pro Max<\/span> is indeed great, what Bamplio offers is a \u201ccase\u201d that attaches to your iPhone with adhesive, essentially making it a disposable case that you can't take off or put back on. But that's not really my problem.<\/p>\n

The other glaring oversight is that you'd pay $50 for two pieces of plastic that wouldn't protect your phone unless you made sure to always drop it on perfectly flat surfaces. Nonetheless, hundreds of people appear to have pulled the trigger on the Bamplio deal – at least judging by the reviews posted on the company's site. website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the company's website, it's no coincidence that the chefs say that presentation is key when it comes to preparing delicious dishes, since that's exactly the strategy used by companies like Bamplio to sell an inexpensive product as an edgy designer piece worth a significant premium.<\/p>\n

The stylish animations, stunning graphics, and high-resolution images found on the website would lead you to believe that this is an awesome product that no one has ever thought of before, which is why $50 (or $40 $ off) is more than a reasonable price to pay for this.<\/p>\n

But a quick search on Amazon<\/a> And AliExpress<\/a> (US and Germany) immediately reveals that the Edge Cover is something you can buy for as little as $10-15 on Amazon, or $1-3 on AliExpress. And that's not a typo.<\/p>\n

I'm not going to do that because it would be accusatory (and I have no hard evidence), but I wouldn't be shocked if the exact same $1 bumper case from AliExpress was what Bamplio turned into a case of $50 high-end designer. for unsuspecting buyers in the West.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The best $10\/\u20ac10 iPhone 15 Pro case I managed to find on the internet after some serious research. It's protective, yet lightweight, and comes with a MagSafe holder and lanyard.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Ultimately, on a business level, I admire taking a product that's basically worthless and managing to sell it for a fortune, but that doesn't make it “cool.” And as you can see in the comments under the sponsored Twitter pitches<\/a> And YouTube videos<\/a> in the Bamplio case, I'm not the only one… Yet we live in a world where reaching potential customers is easier than ever, and in which you will always find people gullible enough to join (or literally buy) simply by anything if it's well presented.<\/p>\n

For the record, I wouldn't advise anyone to buy this bumper case, regardless of the retailer, and that's because it seems like a terrible product.<\/p>\n

Instead of spending $12, or even less $50 for something that I struggle to call a phone case, you might want to look into similar bumper cases (1<\/a>,2<\/a>) I found on Amazon and AliExpress, which are much better.<\/p>\n

My absolute favorite is the Kairueics Magnetic Case<\/a> for iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, which (unfortunately) doesn't seem to be available on Amazon US (or at least not under the same name).
