He previously worked for the Miami Herald, the Tampa Bay Times, the Indianapolis Star and The Athletic.<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>INDIANAPOLIS \u2014 Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson will &#8220;probably&#8221; miss the remainder of the regular season and may undergo shoulder surgery within the next <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/week\/\"   title=\"week\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">week<\/a>, team owner Jim Irsay said Monday. at ESPN.<\/p>\n<p>Richardson, the fourth overall pick in this year&#8217;s draft, suffered a joint sprain in his right (throwing) shoulder during the second quarter of Indianapolis&#8217; Week 5 <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/win\/\"   title=\"win\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">win<\/a> over the Tennessee Titans.<\/p>\n<p>The Colts have spent more than a week since the injury getting numerous medical opinions on how to proceed.  Irsay said the assessments are going in a particular direction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a good chance he\u2019ll be out for the year,\u201d Irsay said.  &#8220;I mean, it&#8217;s not final but [he] he will probably be missed this year and we will have to deal with this factor.  \u00bb<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline editorial float-r\" data-behavior=\"article_related\">\n<h2 class=\"editorial-title\">Editor&#8217;s Choice<\/h2>\n<p>2 Related<\/p>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Among the associated decisions is whether Richardson&#8217;s injury should be surgically repaired or whether continued rehabilitation would be enough to resolve the problem.  Irsay said surgery seems more likely.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is an ongoing debate, but it will probably lead to surgery within the next week,\u201d Irsay said.  \u201cWe&#8217;re just trying to figure out exactly how and when and what we want to do and what Anthony wants to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That last part \u2014 what Richardson prefers \u2014 is a key part, Irsay said.  The final decision will be up to Richardson and those advising him, although most players tend to follow medical advice.  The organization is taking a very cautious approach to Richardson&#8217;s injury given the importance of his health to the long-term future of the franchise.<\/p>\n<p>The Colts lost their first game Sunday since Richardson was placed on injured reserve last week when they lost 37-20 to the Jacksonville Jaguars behind backup Gardner Minshew.  They are now 3-3 and host the Cleveland Browns in Week 7.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple team sources said doctors were still actively consulting on next steps and no final decisions had been made.
