The phone was powered by the 12nm MediaTek Helio G37 chip. 3 GB of RAM was integrated as well as 32 GB of expandable storage. The rear camera array included a 16 MP main camera, a 2 MP macro camera for extreme close-ups, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The device featured a 5 MP front camera and a 5,000 mAh battery.

The next iteration of the phone is coming soon and the Moto G Play (2024) has surfaced in a set of renders created by OnLeaks and SMARTmania. The renders show some pretty thick bezels (especially the chin) and the user interface is unmistakably Motorola. It looks like the main camera is getting a nice upgrade to a 50MP image sensor, but that will be the only camera on the back. There are no macro and ultra-wide sensors, and even the 2MP depth sensor is gone on the new model. The front camera takes a hike and will be backed by an 8MP sensor.

The screen remains the same size at 6.5 inches but offers a higher FHD+ (1080p) resolution; it will still be an LCD panel and will still feature a 90Hz refresh rate. The Moto G Play (2024) will retain the 5,000mAh battery from its predecessor but the charging speed will be 15W compared to 10W on the previous model . Although the new version of the phone replaces the MediaTek Helio chip with an unknown Snapdragon chip, it is unclear whether the device will support 5G connectivity.

The previous variant of the Moto G Play had Android 12 installed and the new version will run on Android 13. It gets a small increase to 4GB of RAM while the storage doubles to 64GB. The price of the phone in the US is 169 $ and it could be revealed as early as next month.

Renders surface of the U.S.-bound Moto G Play (2024); rumored specs include 50MP camera, big battery، Just over a year ago, Motorola launched the Moto G Play (2023) with low-end specs such as a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display with 720 x 1600 resolution with a 90Hz refresh rate.
